Don’t You See
Seeing with the physical eye is much different than seeing with the spiritual eye.
A person may see His Word - Physical
But this dosen’t mean that they see Him! - Spiritually
One can have 20/20 physical eyes but still be blind.
Last week
in verse 15, How did you receive your eye sight?
He put mud on my eyes.
They didn’y beleive him, so they asked his parents.
vs 20
then in verse 26, They asked him again trying to catch him in a lie.
vs 34
They could not find a explanation for this, they could not explain what happened,
So they cast him out!
vs 35
Jesus had heard what they had done to the man, they had cast him out.
In todays culture, not a big deal at all,
People just go to the next church,
But in this day, this is a huge thing,
Being cast out of the synogue meant several things that were big problems for this man.
1. this man had no way to be blessed by God any longer
had no way to pray to God any longer.
2. No one would do busniess with this man ever again as a result to being cast out.
How would he live, eat, but food, obtain clotheing or shelter.
the mans family would consider him as dead!
Being put out of the church today has no big impact.
but dont miss this in verse 35
Two very important words,
Jesus heard,
Jesus heard what had happened to this man.
Jesus knew exactly what had happened.
Jesus knows what others do to you, and He also knows what you do for others too!
Jesus hears when people put you out.
Jesus knows when people mistreat you.
Due to your relationship with Him.
When this happens,
You can expect this to happen, Jesus will come to you and comfort you, just as He did with this man.
having found the him,
You know i see something here in this
We often will say, when I found Jesus.
I understand what people mean when they say this,
But in reality,
Jesus found you! Jesus found me!
This is kinda profound here in this verse,
If no one eles wants you, Jesus wants you, He says I will take you.
Jesus heard that they had cast him out, Jesus went looking for this man.
I bet your bible dosent say this , Jesus went lookig for this man,
But it does say that haveing found this man, implies that Jesu went looking for him.
Luke
Jesus came to seek, to look for you and me,
To find us, and to save us. the lost.
Adam and Eve sinned, and God came looking for them.
Ge
in vs 11 the blind man recognized Jesus as a man.
in vs 17 the man recognized Jesus as a prophet.
But here in verse 35, we see that Jesus went looking for this man so that he would know who He is!
this was for the purpose to complete this mans salvation.
This is essential for salvation!!!!!!!
Some have had Jesus touch them, to heal them, to make provisions for them and yet still not be saved!
vs 35
Do you beleive in the Son of God? in the Son of man?
Same thing,
Fully God yet fully man!
Why is this so important?
Fully God and Fully Man
Fully man in human flesh to be able to fulfill the law of God by dying for our sins.
Only man could do this.
As God as He is to be worshipped!
Jesus can take a hold of God and man and link them together, all through the cross!
This is why He had to be fully God and fully man!
All in order to be able to reconcile us back to God!
in verse 35, Jesus asked this,
Do YOU, you meaning this man,
but is asking this same question this very day,
Do You Believe, not man but the Son of God!
vs 36 we see questions?
here in verse 36 we see this man asking the right questions?
Who is He Sir?
Maybe you have the word Lord here in your bible, the correct translation here for us to understand would be sir,
When we see the word Lord, we think of God the Father, God the Son, but it dosent mean this here.
In England men are often refered to as Lord, meaning sir!
Do you..... believe in the Son of man?
Who is he Sir that I may believe.
In Verse 2
Why is he blind the disciples asked.
in vs 10
The people wanted to know, How were his eyes opened!
People miss it all to often,
Its not about Why, or about How , but rather its all about Who opened his eyey!
also, note this in verse 36,
who is it that I may believe.
This man is not a believer yet!!!!
But he sure is asking the right questions!
Its so important that we stay focused of Jesus, because so many times we get run down a rabbit trail and loose focus of Jesus.
Its easy to go down a rabbit trail on the whys and the hows insted of focusing on Who Jesus is and why He came, in what He came to this earth.
People will ask you questions that will take your focus off of Jesus.
You have seen Him, and you are now talking to Him!
For the very first time this man is seeing the one who opened his eyes!
He is seeing Jesus, how does this man respond to this?
