The Call of Missions

John 3:16 NIV
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Fact: God used Jesus (His Son) to bring salvation to the world.
God loved the world...
Somebody quickly name somebody who isn’t in the world.
God gave...
What do you do for someone you love?
You give...
time, money, protection, affection, and even your life.
μονογενής - monogenes
one and only
Webster’s Dictionary - unquestionably the best, alone in a class
whoever believes in him (Jesus)
shall not perish (hell) but have eternal life (heaven)
Mark 16:15 NIV
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
The Gospel (meaning good news) is a Gospel of action.
We are made for action, we are made to “go into all the world...”
Cars are made to drive not stay in the garage.
These young people are getting out of the garage.
We are made to be men and women of action for God. That is our business. What are you doing to get the Word of God out today?
Now this statement deserves an amen...
Charles Spurgeon “A church is a soul-saving company or it is nothing.”
The most important work of the church is to evangelize the world. We are not to become a club.

Threefold call of missions:

The call from Heaven
John 15:16 NIV
16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
Who here doesn’t love to be chosen? We all love it! We want to be the first picked and we want to be on the team!
You didn’t choose Christ, but He chose you! You!
Chose and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit.
Please understand that being chose is not about privilege but and purpose. Jesus has a purpose for you!
2. The call from Hell
Luke 16:27–28 NIV
27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
I strongly encourage you to read about the Rich Man and Lazarus in its entirety.
Even from Hades or some translations use hell but the point is that from a place of torment the rich man was asking for a missionary to tell the Gospel to his family.
3. The call from the Heathen
Psalm 142:4 NIV
4 Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.
Pslam 142:4
Have you ever felt alone? Have you ever been at a party and thought that if you left no one would ever notice.
Those that are lost want the truth, they are searching for the truth! If you and I have it why are we not sharing it?
Bring Kid’s church back upstairs and pray with Pastor Steve and mission team.
