Don’t live for the dot.

The rich man and Lazarus.

After death, they had two different destinations.

No grave gonna hold my body down .

The two resurrections.

Our bodies will be resurrected and we will continue to live forever after we die.

Body 2.0. .

The resurrection body.

The GWTJ. .

Judgment of unbelievers - outcome eternal Hell

The Bema.

God’s judment of believers - for reward based on what we did for Him on earth.

Heaven.

This entire series was birthed after my interest in heaven.

Wanted to give us a glimpse of what lies on the side of life for the Jesus’ follower.

The sad truth is that today not many people are excited about heaven.

In North America, we can have it pretty easy in comparison to the rest of the world.

Be it summer or winter, there are endless entertainment possibilites:

Cottage, Road-trip, mall with endless stores, eating out - take your pick -Wendy’s MacDonald, Tim’s or true restaurants, gym, rec centre, beach, sailing; even at home we can have endless hours of entertainment namely - Netflix!

So we never think of heaven of heaven because we are so busy.

But there is another reason, there are misconceptions of heaven.

First thing Pentecostals say - One long boring worship service.

“We will be worshiping God forever in heaven.”

We were created to worship God but not 24/7.

If that were the case, Adam and Eve would have placed in temple to worship all the time.

Instead they were placed in a garden with fruit trees and animals.

A dull quiet place.

Satan has done a masterful job of promoting misinformation of heaven.

The results are:

No one is excited about it.

If he can scandal heaven, make it boring, no one wants to go there.

Like having a visa to the USA.

so that no one is excited about it.

So there is no planning for this life after death adn even more, we tell no one about it.

There is no planning for this life after death.

If we understand our earthly life impacts our position and rewards, we will live differently.

We tell no one about it.

No evangelism

This life itself becomes a drag.

We are not excited, happy, hopeful.

But since I know my destination, I can rejoice in the Lord always.

I can say like Paul, “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

What is heaven like?

Paradise: The place where God dwells and we find eternal love, joy, beauty, splendor, glory, and riches.

Imagine the most beautiful place you can.

Heaven surpasses that greatly.

Poor and sickly Lazarus was in paradise where he was comforted.

Not much detail is given there but we know he was recognized by the rich man and he was no longer in pain and suffering.

A New Place

​ NIVThen I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look!

God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.

They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes.

There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

He said to me: “It is done.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.

To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

This is the second death.”

It will all be new!

We love new things, new clothes, new cars, new houses!God will do a makeover of this present planet earth to dwell in.

I believe the new earth will be an Edenic paradise - trees, fruits, rivers, animals.

It is a physical place.

A real physicality to it, not disembodied spirits floating around.Jesus, the carpenter from Nazareth is up in heaven preparing places for us - Are they houses, mansions, cottages?

I don’t know all the details.

You may not have the finest house on this earth but Jesus is preparing a beautiful dwelling place for you in heaven.-3People of all nations, tribes, languagesThe new earth with land, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, mountains, hills, valleysSunsets, trees, grass, flowers.Nature in all its beauty.Cities, countrysides, roadsThe capital city is the New Jerusalem.

It is being prepared for the Son of David, the Messiah, the Christ, who will reign over the world from Jerusalem.

He is the groom.
