Introduction
The older I get the more I love my parents.
Not just because they are better people as they get older as if they are trying to get into heaven.
I love them more because I understand them better now then I did years ago.

It is your love for God that fuels your obedience, desire, and pursuit of God.
Yet if you dont understand God’s Love.
Context
Hosea is an Old Testament Prophet who prophesied during the later half of eith century B.C. right before the Northern Kingdom went into exile.
He is called to do a difficult thing to communicate to God’s chosen people about thier unfaithfulness to God despite his his response of faithfulness.
He tells them that they are going to be struck down and sent into exile but will be redeemd later as prohesied by Moses.
The Challenge with what God calls Hosea to do is that he actually calls Hosea not to tell the people what God’s Love looks like, he actually calls him to show the people what it looks like.
In Chapter 1 God tells Hosea to Marry a promiscous woman, have children with her.
She had her first son by Hosea, had two more children by other men.
God calls his children

Now after all that God decides to show you Love to the people again and here we will find what it means for God to Love us.
Hosea Redeems His Wife
3 And the LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.” 2 So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a lethech of barley.
3 And I said to her, “You must dwell as mine for many days.
You shall not play the whore, or belong to another man; so will I also be to you.” 4 For the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or household gods.
5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and they shall come in fear to the LORD and to his goodness in the latter days.

If you work at your job and you are not sure if you will get paid but you keep coming even when you dot’ get paid.

a) Idolatry was a huge issue for the children of Israel over the course of the old testament

God is less concerned with the objects of your affection, while being more concerned with the placement of your affection

We are consumed with taste while neglecting its impact on us.

Zophar is speaking to Job of the dangers of evil
He says that it taste good going in but turns to poison
I never get full on healthy food because I dont eat for nurishment I eat for taste
We have to be careful of the sin in our lives because of the taste.
We don’t know what it will do to us
We can choose our sins but we can not choose our consequences.
I wish food would not just show us the ingredients but the affects
The problem with taste is that it is temporary
You don’t eat desert because you are hungry.
that is why you keep taking bites
We were given taste buds to protect us
