Introduction:
We started a new series last week called “Living the Dream.”
A story of Joseph is Genesis.
God has a dream for every person.
Sometimes he reveals that dream for you and others to follow.
Sometimes he just works the dream out until it becomes a reality.
But here is what we’ve learned so far:
Joseph was the favored son of Jacob or Israel.
He was second to the youngest of 12 brothers.
God gave him two dreams.
In the first dream the brothers bowed down to him.
In the Second dream the entire family bowed down to him.
It’s hard to dream with God.
When God give you a dream it will be God-sized.
You can’t accomplish the dream without him.
People are not always receptive to your dreams with God.
People want to control the dream, destroy the dream, or even kill the dream and sometimes the dreamer.
Joseph has no idea how these dreams are going to come to pass.
He just knows that they originated with God.
Some of you have experienced this hardness and suffering just in the little bit of the dream that God has revealed so far.
For example:
When you go home and say, “I have received Christ as my Lord and Savior.”
and the family isn’t happy or excited about it.
They call it a phase, and tell you to grow out of it.
When you are called to go to Africa to minister to little boys and girls that have never heard the gospel.
You would expect everyone to cheer you on and be excited, but their not.
Living the Dream has never been easy.
Jesus knew it was be hard.
Matt 10:34
Matthew 10:
Paul knew the dream wasn’t easy when he said to Timothy
2 Tim 2:
You look at anyone in the world today that has seen their dream come true and you will find a story full of suffering and hard times until the dream came to pass.
How to Endure to see the Dream Come to Pass:
God’s dreams for you are forged through the trials of life.
Be willing to endure the suffering to see the dream unfold.
When God gives you a dream, trust him through the trials.
God given dreams change the World.
If you are willing to endure the trials, you to can go from the Pit to Prosperity.
