What is the gospel?
God, through the perfect life, atoning death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, rescues all his people from the wrath of God into peace with God, with a promise of the full restoration of his created order forever (his kingdom fully realized under his perfect rule)- all to the praise of the glory of his grace. -Adapted from Ray Ortlund, The Gospel

#1: Heaven and earth were once in perfect union in Eden, where God and humans were in perfect communion and right relationship.
#1: Heaven and earth were once in perfect union in Eden, where God and humans were in perfect communion and right relationship.
#2 Death is the result of sin, and death separates what never was supposed to be separated.
#3 Heaven and earth are depicted as distinct but overlapping dimensions of divine space and human space.
#4 In the Bible these overlapping spaces of heaven and earth are specifically associated with Temples.
#5 Animal sacrifice is established as a means for dealing with Israel’s sin and injustice which enables God to remain in their presence.
#6 In the New Testament Jesus is described as the temple where heaven and earth overlap as well as the animal sacrifice offered for sin.
#5 Through the presence of Jesus among his followers by the Holy Spirit, the Church becomes a temple where God’s space and human space overlap.
Acts 1:1 ESV
In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach,
The Authority of King Jesus over Disease (v.32-35)

To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
The Gifts of Healing & Working of Miracles
1 Corinthians 12:28 ESV
And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.
Jesus Works Miracles Outside the Apostles (Galatians 3:5)
Galatians 3:5 HCSB
So then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law or by hearing with faith?

#6: New Creation is a Rejoining of Heaven and Earth, Filled with the Beauty and Glory of Jesus
Revelation 21:1–5 ESV
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
