Have you ever noticed that everyone makes an impact? Some good and some not so good. Jesus was the best at leaving an impact on people. He didn't command people; he influenced them with love and service. In this series we are going to learn the things Jesus taught and lived to influence others for His Kingdom.

Impact Series Part One: Love

Opening:
Here in London, Justin Bieber was born, he grew up in Stratford.. If you look into his success story you find out His mom was left to raise Justin by herself
Gr. 7 Ben playing sports, he had the sway on everybody during sports or anything at school, if ben liked it you liked it, if ben thought it was stupid you thought it was stupid. He was a big personality and you didn’t want to challenge him or disagree with him, he was the coolest guy in our class. We we’re out playing soccer and Ben said to us, if you guys get the ball make sure to pass it up to me ok.
Ben had a huge impact on our team, he influcned decisions, and even the things people liked. He had huge impact and influence on everyone.. But the new school year started grade 8.. we show up and… no ben. Apperently he went to a different school.. by the end of the first week of grade 8 everyone forgot about Ben… His impact was really short lived, he definelty had some impact on the class but it was short lived and soon forgotten..

He didn't command people; he influenced them with love and service. In this series we are going to learn the things Jesus taught and lived to leave a lasting impact that counts for something not just for today, or tomorrow but to leave an impact that lasts into forever.
All of us want to leave an impact, leave an influence on people! Jesus was the master influencer, and in fact teaches his disciples before he goes to the cross what it takes to leave an impact that will still be left when your not.
Leaving an Impact That Last Begins With Being In Christ v. 5-6
Jesus when taking about fruit is talking about an impact, doing good in the name of Jesus, being a good person is not enough to leave an impact, because without first being impact by Jesus we can’t leave one.
Jesus Is The One Who Impacts v.
ILL: Gardening Story, Cutting Down tree or when leaves fall of the tree they wither and die.
This is exactly what happens to us when we don’t remain in Jesus...
But what does it mean to remain in Jesus? How can we remain in Jesus?
By putting our trust in Jesus, for who he is and what he’s done! You become redeemed and become a child of God and get our life through Jesus who died for us and rose for us.
a. Apart From Christ We Can't Impact Our World Positively. 5-6 b.
When we remain in Jesus in our trust and faith, he prunes us and we bear fruit, what do you think Jesus means by the fruit? Faithful followers of Jesus living our faith and a big part is Spiritual fruit- Gal 5:22-23
a. Those that don’t stay rooted in Christ become useless
So when we follow Jesus and remain in Him we can leave an impact that lasts and a positive one. So doing Good and Spreading the Good News of Jesus is the impact that lasts but it also shows something else to those around us..
b. Our Impact Is a Sign To The World There Is Something Bigger To Live For v. 8
Our fruitfulness brings God Glory and shows the world that we are living for Jesus it is:

Jesus has impacted and changed our lives like nothing else can and we live for him and God’s own grace and influence in our lives is a magnificent sign to the world that we don’t live for this world.
