Her Desperate Condition

This story is filled with two people in desparate circumstances. One a father, whose 12 year old girl is at the point of death. The other a woman, whose 12 year condition has her at the end of herself.
The woman’s condition (note for self: the participles give the condition, and her decision, the active verb provides the moment of change):
A discharge of blood. (lit. “being in the flow of blood”) 12 years of hemmoraging. A continual problem.
“Having suffered” man’s wisdom didn’t help.
“Having spent” her wealth couldn’t help.
“Having not been help, but having grown worse.” She was weak.
“Having heard about Jesus.” The beginnning of the change. She had heard what he can do.

Her Decision

She went to Jesus. She determined that only Jesus could provide the healing that she needed.
The word she has received is drawing her near to Christ for aid.

Her Deliverance

She touched Him (First non-participle verb in the chain).

Her Declaration

Jesus sought her.
He looked and kept looking. Not stopping at the disciple’s questioning.
She came forward and confessed.
There is cleansing in confession. There is affirmation of God’s internal work in public declaration.
She told the whole story.
Jesus saved her,
Daughter - a term of acceptance. She has not been rejected, but found favor with God!
“Your faith has made you whole (sozo - salvation!)”
“Go in peace”
