To begin our series on the five core reformational truths (the five solas), this Sunday we consider the Word of God (sola Scriptura), from which all these truths are derived. It’s more than a book – it’s the Holy Bible. It’s more than just writings – it’s sacred Scripture. It’s more than the words of men – it’s the Word of God. That means it carries the authority of God himself. And that matters because we live under its authority, guided by it, measured by it, tested by it, and saved by it. Scripture is not salvation itself, but the light by which it is seen and the lens by which we view all else.
