The Universal Language of God Part I

n      PSALM 19 and Romans 1:19-20,26

n

God uses nature and His Word as a dual revelation of Himself to man.  Nature composes the general revelation, and the Word, the more specific revelation.

HE SPEAKS THROUGH NATURE Psalm 19:1-6

  • God’s wisdom, power and glory are seen in his creation. Psalm 19:1-2
  • Creation speaks to every Nation Psalm 19:3-4; Psalm 8; Psalm 29; Isaiah 40:12-31
  • Creation upheld by His Word Isaiah 40:6-8

HE SPEAKS THROUGH THE SCRIPTURE Psalm 19:7-11

  • His Word (Law) is personal to man, the “Law of the Lord (YWH) Psalm 19:7
  • His Word is Inspired 2 Timothy 3:16;  2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Corinthians 2:10; Hebrews 1:1-3 1.
  • His Word is without error, in either in historical fact or in Spiritual Truth.
  • His Word is a Sure Testimony, it does not change; but is sure and steadfast.  Psalm 119:89
  • His Word is a precious treasure in the Word of God Psalm 119:72; Proverbs 8:10, 16:16
  • His Word is Sweeter than Honey Psalm 119:103

HE DOES NOT LIE, HIS TOTAL MESSAGE IS FOUND IN BOTH THE WORD AND NATURE Psalm 119:128, 160

HE SPEAKS TO US PERSONALLY Psalm 19:12-14

  • The Mirror of the Heart Psalm 19:12-13 We have to read the word of God for Guidance
  • The Meditation of the Heart – Psalm 19:14  The Prayer on our lips, also in our hearts.  The meditation of the heart controls the words of the mouth. Mark 7:14-23
  • The Music from the Heart - “meditation”  as a musician with an instrument. Galatians 5:16 and Romans 8:1-8 Filled with the Spirit, Filled with the Word
  • Filled with the Spirit, Filled with the Word.  Meditation takes in of the Word of God and internalizes it into part of the inner being.  Having a "spiritual mind" means having the heart and mind focused on the Word all day long.  His Spirit guides our life.
