Many people back in Martin Luther’s days would buy indulgencies trying to get faith, they would pay to have grace. And Luther says, absolutely not, faith is what God has already given us. In Hebrews 11:1 the author invites us to explore the truth and the reality of what faith and what God is all about. Faith is that reality by which we base our lives on, yet it is not seen. The reason we don’t see it is because it hasn’t arrived yet. This describes Christianity, we live in a reality of already, we already have Christ, we already know the story in the Scriptures, but this verse points strongly to what has not yet arrived. Will we trust the Word of God, that every promise He makes will one day be true?
