q       Went to the house of the Lord and were on one accord

Levels of prayer.  There are three levels of prayer portrayed in the bible Lets discuss for a minute these levels

Matt 6:9 The Father example is the beginning level.  When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray  He taught them to use these elements.

Adoration Confession Thanksgiving and Suplication

Is 43:26 Is what I will term the second level of prayer

Isaiah 43:26

26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

Isaiah 55:11

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Jude 20

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

most \ˈmōst\ adjective

[Middle English, from Old English m+̄st; akin to Old High German meist most, Old English māra more — more at more]

(before 12th century)

1 : greatest in quantity, extent, or degree 〈the most ability〉

2 : the majority of 〈most people〉

Romans 8:25-27

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, becausee he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

I have to cry Sometimes

6–12. And said, O Lord God of our fathers—This earnest and impressive prayer embraces every topic and argument which, as king and representative of the chosen people, he could urge. Then it concludes with an earnest appeal to the justice of God to protect those who, without provocation, were attacked and who were unable to defend themselves against overwhelming numbers.  This also Is the approach you should take when you go before the lord.

14–18. Then upon Jahaziel … came the Spirit of the LordJahazie-Whose Name means the Lord or God sees. This prophet is not elsewhere mentioned, but his claim to the inspiration of a prophetic spirit was verified by the calm and distinct announcement he gave, both of the manner and the completeness of the deliverance he predicted.

Jeremiah 33:3

3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

God Answered the prayer and said the battle in not yours it is the lords Set yourself still and see the salvation of the Lord. Vs 17

18. Jehoshaphat bowed his head … and all Judah, &c.—This attitude was expressive of reverence to God and His Word, of confidence in His promise, and thankfulness for so extraordinary a favor.

19. the Levites … stood up to praise the Lord—doubtless by the king’s command. Their song was sung with such a joyful acclaim as showed that they universally (on one accord) regarded the victory as already obtained.

Worshiping the Lord after the prayer

After we have offered prayer to the lord we have to walk out on faith.  What stops God from answering our prayers is our unbelief not the devil.

You will b e able to see the demise of your enemy.  Psalm 23 says that he prepares a table before you enemies.  But when we have seen God give us the victory we do not relish in their demise.  We do not gloat.

19. the Levites … stood up to praise the Lord—doubtless by the king’s command. Their anthem was sung with such a joyful acclaim as showed that they universally regarded the victory as already obtained.

20, 21. as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood … Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem—probably in the gate of Jerusalem, the place of general rendezvous; and as the people were on the eve of setting out, he exhorted them to repose implicit trust in the Lord and His prophet, not to be timid or desponding at sight of the enemy, but to remain firm in the confident assurance of a miraculous deliverance, without their striking a single stroke.

21. he appointed singers … that they should praise … as they went out before the army—Having arranged the line of procession, he gave the signal to move forwards. The Levites led the van with their musical instruments; and singing the 136th Psalm, the people went on, not as an army marching against an enemy, but returning in joyful triumph after a victory.  You see in this Psalm there are 26 versus and it is repeated at the end of each verse a total of 26 times His Mercy endurith forever.  We learned on Sunday from pastor that mercy is what God has already  done.  They were thanking God for already having given the victory.  When you pray do you act as though God has already given you the victory.

Jesus will fix it after while.

2Ch 20:22–30. The Overthrow of His Enemies.

22. when they began to sing and to praise the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—Some think that this was done by angels in human form, whose sudden appearance diffused an uncontrollable panic. Others entertain the more probable opinion that, in the camp of this vast horde, composed of different tribes, jealousies and animosities had sprung up, which led to widespread dissensions and fierce feuds, in which they drew the sword against each other. The consequence was, that as the mutual strife commenced when the Hebrew procession set out from Jerusalem, the work of destruction was completed before Jehoshaphat and his people arrived at the battlefield. Thus easy is it for God to make the wrath of man to praise Him, to confound the counsels of His enemies and employ their own passions in defeating the machinations they have devised for the overthrow of His Church and people.
