Worship ()

It is important to understand and know that your worship is not location specific. Your worship to God is a reflection of your life in totality. Many times we restrict our out pour of Christianity to a building and it shows in our everyday life. Think about anything we do in life. Think about your day to day commitments or any hobbies you may have, imagine if you only spent 2-3 hours a week on that activity, how good do you believe that you would be at it? We have to be cognizant of our time spent with God as well, we have to be mindful of how much time we are devoting to him. Worship requires a number of things but one of the biggest things it requires is humility and self-reflection. What does true worship require? How do we weigh the heart against the regulations? Anything that changes over time that we are devoted to is difficult to stomach, but the humbling thing about worship is understanding that we are all in need of God’s grace, we are all in need of God’s forgiveness, and most of all we are in need of his power in our life.

True Worship Desires Service

Jesus begins the conversation with a directive, “Give me a Drink”.
Jesus gives us a chance to serve on a daily basis regardless of our background. Sometimes you are the only one who can serve the given need.
Sometimes service is not about resources, sometimes you have to use what you have. Even if all we have is Jesus we need to be connected enough to him to recognize the resources that he has already given us.
Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, Give me drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.
When we understand and know who controls our source we will be more effective.
“She said to Him, Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do you get that living water.”
Understand the beauty of worship, understand the beauty of salvation. Jesus desires that all men be saved.
Chapter 3 deals with a Jewish man, in chapter 4 it deals with a Samaritan woman. Yet Jesus desires to save both.
In order to serve like Jesus we have to be willing to step outside of our comfort zones of race, religion and social status. Understand Jesus is the Messiah, a teacher yet he is spending his time looking to save this woman whom some would equate to a prostitute. Worship has no barriers of entry.

True Worship Takes Commitment

We have to be committed to the fact that once we begin to try Jesus he will always be enough.
Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him with become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.
Commitment to a new life, even when the “old you” weighs heavily on the new you stay committed.
But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,
Verse 16 says Go, call your husband and come here and then in verse 17 the woman answered and said I have no husband, Jesus said to her, You have answered correctly said, I have no husband for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband this you have said truly.
True worship means despite your past, no matter how ugly is it, you stay committed to God.
True worship means we do not put conditions on the offering of people because their life is in more shambles visibly than ours is in secret.
But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,

True Worship Is Not restricted to One Place

I’ll have to admit I am adventurous to try new things but I am a creature of habit based on the experience of the given place. For instance I like Bosa Donuts, but not all Bosa Donuts are created equal. The Bosa by my old house in mesa has the bagel sandwich I like and the one by my house in Phoenix does not. Nonetheless I cannot drive all the way to Mesa when I want some Bosa so I have to settle for what they have.
Right now you may be worshipping in the place your desire but a time is coming when this building will no more suffice for what God is trying to do. Eventually no earthly building will suffice for what God is planning to do in eternity.
The hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem with you worship the Father.
Although this place will not serve as our place of worship for ever, how we worship here will determine what God will go with us tomorrow.
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Salvation is not limited to one place, understand that not only will we have to teach those who have been taught incorrectly, but we must teach those who have created their own in lieu of never being taught what is right as well.
The worship of God is not confined to a place but is an action based on the heart. The worship of God must be kept in truth according to the revealed word of God.
for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh.
Understand that we must worship God according to his character, understand that worship is a must, true we worship God is our lifestyle but we also must collectively worship together!
