Introduction
As we have been walking through the book of 1 Corinthians we have been discovering that ministry is messy.
People are messy.
The world is messy.
When a person finds Jesus through the gospel message.
The verbiage changes.
Jesus washes you with the water of the word and makes you clean.
Isiah says “Though your sin be as scarlet, I will make you white as snow.”
You see, the power of the gospel is a resurrected life.
A life once bound by sin is now yielded to God.
A changed life is the proof of the gospel.
When people come to the church searching for answers, it’s not to know how to sin.
They have that down.
But how to live in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, genteelness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self control.
They want the fruit of the Spirit.
They want a true connection to God.
How to live reckless is not hard to find, but how to live righteously alludes most of us.
Righteousness comes through Discipline and Chastening.
The family of the Lord is no different.
God as a good Father disciplines his children.
We use words like: crazy, insane, irresponsible, and unbelievable.
On the other hand, you have the family that is truly loved and disciplined.
We use words like: precious, polite, a joy to be around, and delightful.
So what’s the difference.
Discipline and Chastening.
Romans
Everybody wants the peaceful fruit of righteousness, but no one wants to endure the switch from its tree.
In , Paul is getting on to the church for not taking care of a sexual sin problem inside the Church.

These 3 sins have been the demise of to many ministers and ultimately churches in general.
If we are not willing to judge ourselves within the Church we are left to be judged by those outside the Church.
The world is not kind.
It’s looking for any reason to disprove our changed lives in Christ.
God judges the World, We judge the Church.
There is a huge misconception in the world that the Church is not supposed to judge.
Paul is very clear on how and why we must learn to Biblically hold one another accountable in the Church.
