We are in an interesting time in Mosaic
The Holy Spirit has been making himself very clear to leadership about the emphasis and priority we need to have in Mosaic.
I have spoken on this before…but feel lead back to it.
Effective- Spirit filled- God empowered Christianity is something we all want to have
A faith that truly provides peace & joy
A faith that brings the power to change into our lives
A faith that is not just a theological plaything we have a an amusement in our life
How do we know it is just an amusement in our life?
We stop going when its not fun anymore.
Effective- Spirit filled- God empowered Christianity does not happen just because we have been at it for years
This kind of Christianity comes with obedience, repentance and commitment
Jesus showed us this elevated kind of power to change
The disciples could not heal/deliver a sick boy
When they asked Jesus why not…he said
Mark 9:29 NKJV
So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
Sometimes there is a little more needed than the desire for things to happen
Sometimes we need to go deeper and address something that is needed in us to have the power and authority of God in our lives
The letters in Revelation to the churches
This Letter is sent to the church at Ephesus (the church of John-Paul)
I believe it is a letter to Mosaic AND many churches in the west today
Revelation 2:2–3 NLT
“I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. You have patiently suffered for me without quitting.
This church had done alot of hard work
They have suffered and still kept going
Attending prayer meeting
Preparing meals for people
Preaching sermons and pushing correct doctrine
But there was something more import…more vital in God’s heart
Revelation 2:4–6 NLT
“But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches. But this is in your favor: You hate the evil deeds of the Nicolaitans, just as I do.
An important part of this statement is:
Look how far you have fallen!
