Subject: The genealogy of Jesus the Messiah. The glorious God of the Universe is hidden in Israel, but it is not hidden so much that you can’t find Him. It is an open mystery of God revealed. In the first chapter Matthew wants to show the Jews that Jesus is not only the King of the Jews and the gentiles, He is Lord, but He is also a Servant. He’s the blessing we’ve been longing for. God delighted in bringing His Son into an obedient faith filled heart and for the faithful remnant who follows God, who adores Him, He puts the baby Jesus in their hands. And that’s what He does with you and me, because as we come to God and we say: “no more pride, no more nationalism, no more prejudice, no more self-sacrifice and giving, no more self-sufficiency, we worship Christ alone,” He puts Jesus in our lives.
