We Have Access To and Through Jesus
Our access to Jesus is because of Jesus.
He came!
He is the one who makes our access possible.
Jay Sekulow Illustration!
Notice the plural tense.
verse 15 says WE
Verse 16 says US
WE have access.
Everyone who knows the Lord as their Savior has access.
Everyone who will turn to the Lord can have access.
We Have Access to Grace
Approach= Access--- God is approachable
Throne= A lofty chair that is a place of ruling.
It seems to me that we would not normally think of a throne as a place of GRACE.
We would normally think of a throne as a place of rule and order, and judgment, but not grace.
But because of Jesus it is a place of grace.
We Have Confident Access
Confidence and arrogance are not the same thing.
Arrogance is self focused, prideful, and wrong minded.
Confidence in this case (boldness) comes from a clear understanding of the access we have in Christ and to Christ.
I don’t have to wonder if I God wants to fellowship with me..
If God wants to forgive me....
If God wants to bless me.
If God has purpose for me.
My confidence is in Christ.
We Gain Mercy and Grace through our Access
Mercy- Not getting what we deserve
Grace- Getting what we do not deserve
HELP when we need it.
Moment by moment.
