What the Heck! Oh Whatever!

“Today I was outraged by five things. My heart raced, I became indignant and self-righteous, and then, after about ten minutes, I stopped caring. Outrage. Anger spike. Apathy. Outrage. Anger spike. Apathy. That’s my cycle every day: Outrage. Anger spike. Apathy.” “We’re a generation overwhelmed by outrage with absolutely nowhere to funnel that anger. Every cause wants to be an advocate. Every cause feels like The Most Important Cause. Yet, when everything demands attention, nothing does.” “ I, for one, feel incredibly hopeless pretty much all the time.” “Someone once told me that being numb is not the absence of feeling, but the sensation of feeling too much at once. This is how I feel about the state of our world right now—numb. It’s too many feelings at once, too much injustice and hate and greed and senseless violence. Not to mention that living is a thing, too. Surviving. Treading water. Sometimes it takes about all the energy I have to get out of bed at a reasonable time and fire up the computer only to get sucked back into the outrage cycle.” “I want to believe in the hope of change. I want my idealism to fuel efforts that will rise to the level that is needed in order to make a lasting impact. I want so much for our collective outrage to mean something, to change hearts and minds. I want to see the boulder move more than a foot up the mountain. I want to be able, in my lifetime, to see the miles of footsteps we’ve taken forward as humans. But, my hope, that burning hope I still hold within me is tired. It’s flickering. I fear it can simply burn out any moment.”
How many of you relate to this story in someway?
But, my hope, that burning hope I still hold within me is tired. It’s flickering. I fear it can simply burn out any moment.
I know many of you are struggling with something:
maybe your future causes you to worry
you waste so much time online (etc.) and it doesnt feel worth it.
Have you noticed you can just watch one video, its alway another?
your future causes you to worry
maybe your unhealthy addiction cant seem to be cured.
no matter what you do you cant seem to be fixed.
you feel broken but you act numb so you seem whole.
maybe you cant stop thinking what do people think of me?
you have fallen into the trap of living in judgment of people.
maybe you
But who do you trust your emotions too?
What is the point of sharing your future worries with someone who wastes the day like you do.
Why should you act guilty when you know everyone around you is guilty too?
Why should you try to please others when you know they will just judge you.
Life is easier numb!
I dont have to feel vulnerable to anyone.

God Cares

I dont have to
God will leave the 99 for the one.
Luke 15:3–7 NLT
So Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!
I don’t know about you but I often feel like the one.
Psalm 139 NLT
For the choir director: A psalm of David. O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! O God, if only you would destroy the wicked! Get out of my life, you murderers! They blaspheme you; your enemies misuse your name. O Lord, shouldn’t I hate those who hate you? Shouldn’t I despise those who oppose you? Yes, I hate them with total hatred, for your enemies are my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Whether it is guilt, doubt,
I think many of you believe that you’re the outcast...
That you are the one odd ball.
That you’re the one guilty in the middle of awesome Christians
That
That you cant seem to get it right.
That
God’s love is so great He will leave the many to go find you!
You think you came to God when you went to church.
au contraire mon frère
It was God that has come to you!
Lamentations 3:31–58 NIrV
The Lord doesn’t turn his back on people forever. He might bring suffering. But he will also show loving concern. How great his faithful love is! He doesn’t want to bring pain or suffering to people. Every time people crush prisoners under their feet, the Lord knows all about it. When people refuse to give a man his rights, the Most High God knows it. When people don’t treat a man fairly, the Lord knows it. Suppose people order something to happen. It won’t happen unless the Lord has planned it. Troubles and good things alike come to people because the Most High God has commanded them to come. A man who is still alive shouldn’t blame God when God punishes him for his sins. Let’s take a good look at the way we’re living. Let’s return to the Lord. Let’s lift up our hands to God in heaven. Let’s pray to him with all our hearts. Let’s say, “We have sinned. We’ve refused to obey you. And you haven’t forgiven us. “You have covered yourself with the cloud of your anger. You have chased us. You have killed our people without pity. You have covered yourself with the cloud of your anger. Our prayers can’t get through to you. You have made us become like trash and garbage among the nations. “All of our enemies have opened their mouths wide to swallow us up. We are terrified and trapped. We are broken and destroyed.” Streams of tears flow from my eyes. That’s because my people are destroyed. Tears will never stop flowing from my eyes. My eyes can’t get any rest. I’ll sob until the Lord looks down from heaven. I’ll cry until he notices my tears. What I see brings pain to my spirit. All of the people in my city are suffering so much. Those who were my enemies for no reason at all hunted me down as if I were a bird. They tried to end my life by throwing me into a deep pit. They threw stones down at me. The water rose and covered my head. I thought I was going to die. Lord, I called out to you. I called out from the bottom of the pit. I prayed, “Please don’t close your ears to my cry for help.” And you heard my appeal. You came near when I called out to you. You said, “Do not be afraid.” Lord, you stood up for me in court. You saved my life and set me free.

You know all about their plans against me. Lord, you have heard them laugh at me. You know all about their plans against me. You have heard my enemies whispering among themselves. They speak against me all day long.

Cover their minds with a veil. Put a curse on them! Lord, get angry with them and hunt them down. Wipe them off the face of the earth.
Lamentations 3:31–66 NKJV
For the Lord will not cast off forever. Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion According to the multitude of His mercies. For He does not afflict willingly, Nor grieve the children of men. To crush under one’s feet All the prisoners of the earth, To turn aside the justice due a man Before the face of the Most High, Or subvert a man in his cause— The Lord does not approve. Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, When the Lord has not commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That woe and well-being proceed? Why should a living man complain, A man for the punishment of his sins? Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord; Let us lift our hearts and hands To God in heaven. We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned. You have covered Yourself with anger And pursued us; You have slain and not pitied. You have covered Yourself with a cloud, That prayer should not pass through. You have made us an offscouring and refuse In the midst of the peoples. All our enemies Have opened their mouths against us. Fear and a snare have come upon us, Desolation and destruction. My eyes overflow with rivers of water For the destruction of the daughter of my people. My eyes flow and do not cease, Without interruption, Till the Lord from heaven Looks down and sees. My eyes bring suffering to my soul Because of all the daughters of my city. My enemies without cause Hunted me down like a bird. They silenced my life in the pit And threw stones at me. The waters flowed over my head; I said, “I am cut off!” I called on Your name, O Lord, From the lowest pit. You have heard my voice: “Do not hide Your ear From my sighing, from my cry for help.” You drew near on the day I called on You, And said, “Do not fear!” O Lord, You have pleaded the case for my soul; You have redeemed my life. O Lord, You have seen how I am wronged; Judge my case. You have seen all their vengeance, All their schemes against me. You have heard their reproach, O Lord, All their schemes against me, The lips of my enemies And their whispering against me all the day. Look at their sitting down and their rising up; I am their taunting song. Repay them, O Lord, According to the work of their hands. Give them a veiled heart; Your curse be upon them! In Your anger, Pursue and destroy them From under the heavens of the Lord.
You know what amazes me?
Is how we often run from God when we hurt.
We run to video games, videos, instagram
that make us numb
God wants us to deal with it with Him.

Challenge

I am going to challenge you if your willing to be vulnerable.
guys i know being vulnerable seems like a weakness but it is a strength.
I want you to be open with God.
but it is a strength.
It is pride that keeps us from being vulnerable and so opening up causes a fear… and last time I checked fear is not strength.
So a person not willing to open up has more issues...
This will all stay anonymous. Do not write your name. Do not show anyone. Just write it.
Only if your willing to be real and vulnerable..... write down:
“I am......” (something you are afraid to share with others, something that you feel like you cant say to someone, something that may cause you to go numb)
I want you to look at what you just wrote? Can you believe you just wrote that down?
Remember God cares.
1 Peter 5:7 NKJV
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Fold it. Close your eyes. Lets pray.
if you want to give your struggles, and pain to God now raise up your paper, and I will collect it remember you will remain anonymous.
Just give it up to the Lord.
We are here only for your good not to hurt you! You can trust..
God cares for you.
