The Armor of God

Belt of Righteousness
Breastplate of Faith
Shoes of Truth
Shield of Peace
Ephesians 6:12 KJV 1900
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph

The Helmet of Salvation

Satan attacks our mind
the fight is not worth it
look at that church over there
this Christian life is not what was promised
is the fight worth it?
what is being accomplished?
wouldn't it be easier just to lie down and give up
attack. attack. attack.
When the attacks come we need to put on the helmet

The helmet

leather cap with metal ornamental added protection
plumes
to be put on in times of combat
it was always there ready to be used
like the shield

Salvation

this is not the salvation of
so if not what?

1 Thessalonians 5:8 LEB
But because we are of the day, we must be sober, by putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet the hope of salvation,
salvation is the hope
to be with Jesus
to have a new glorified Body
the Resurrection is near
Great is our reward in Heaven if we are faithful and not faint

Let us not Faint

1 Corinthians 15:32–34 LEB
If according to a human perspective I fought wild beasts at Ephesus, what benefit is it to me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. Do not be deceived! “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Sober up correctly and stop sinning, for some have no knowledge of God—I say this to your shame.
what is the sense of going through trials if there is nothing to look forward to
but there is The Hope
Galatians 6:9 LEB
And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give up.

2 Timothy 1:7 LEB
For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and love and self-discipline.
Luke 18:1 LEB
And he told them a parable to show that they must always pray and not be discouraged,
2 Corinthians 4:6–18 LEB
For God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” is the one who has shined in our hearts for the enlightenment of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthenware jars, in order that the extraordinary degree of the power may be from God and not from us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying around the death of Jesus in our body, in order that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are continually being handed over to death because of Jesus, in order that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal flesh. So then, death is at work in us, but life in you. But because we have the same spirit of faith in accordance with what is written, “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak, because we know that the one who raised Jesus will also raise us together with Jesus and present us together with you. For all these things are for your sake, in order that the grace that is increasing through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart, but even if our outer person is being destroyed, yet our inner person is being renewed day after day. For our momentary light affliction is producing in us an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure and proportion, because we are not looking at what is seen, but what is not seen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is not seen is eternal.
2 Corinthians
Jesus is working through us for eternal things

We Shall Be Like Him

1 John 3:1–3 LEB
See what sort of love the Father has given to us: that we should be called children of God, and we are! Because of this the world does not know us: because it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever he is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is. And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as that one is pure.
we will be pure
we are Gods children
we have the Hope
we are Gods children
John 10:28–29 LEB
And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish forever, and no one will seize them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can seize them from the Father’s hand.
3 tenses of salvation
1 has been saved by faith, we have been given the righteousness of God
2 are being saved we are not perfect but we are being sanctified
3 we have the hope of eternity with Jesus to look forward to the final absolute salvation that is the helmet of salvation
Hebrews 6:11–12 LEB
And we desire each one of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the full assurance of your hope until the end, in order that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and patience.
