In the text today the author of Hebrews is continuing his argument that Jesus is our high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek making him far superior to the Levitical priests he is superior because of 1) God’s oath (20-22) 2) Jesus is superior because of his permanence (23-25) 3) Jesus is superior because of his perfection (26-28) the overall message is that because Jesus is our perfect High Priest He saves to the uttermost
