1st food passes through we get nutrients ......
eat get full .... hungry again over and over
2nd is spiritual stomach
we try to fill with stuff or achievements or recognition,money
If I only could have Blank that would make me happy satisfied
but it doesn't
1 more pair of shoes, the newest sled, that new video game
make more money, play the lottery, work more hours
no matter what we get or do its never enough
2 or 3 weeks the rush is over and we are craving something new
we search for love and acceptance
Our soul craves a filling that no matter what we put in it
it stays empty. Is this all there is to life?
So we turn to drugs and alcohol to escape this emptiness
we turn to something
and possibly thoughts of suicide
How can this Spiritual stomach be filled?
Bread of Life
Bread of Life
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty again.
Jesus is the life sustaining bread that every one needs
to fill that inner longing
its only through God the Son, Jesus can we come to God the Father
Now when the feast was already half over, Jesus went to the temple courts and began to teach.
and when we do we are filled with this
John 7 14
Jesus fills us with this food that our soul has been craving for
We find the love and significance we have been longing for
being saved is more than a get out of Hell card
its a relationship with God, the creator of the universe
The privilege of talking with Him
Having God the Holy Spirit as our comforter and guide
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you know him and have seen him.”
