The 3’Cs of Church Climate

Text:
42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
Consumers of the Climate: 42
We all come into the body of Christ as a consumer.
New job
It is also true in the spiritual. We have certain needs as a new or spirtually immature believers.
We usually come broken, hurt and downcast. We come with a past full of unforgiveness, depression.
We come filled with all the lies of the enemy and our spirits are broken. We have nothing to give. We are desperate for something else. Something more.
Can we remember what we were like when Jesus came to us and saved us? We are a hot mess in the beginning right? That is ok. That is where we need to be to recieve all that God has for us right.
We all have spiritual needs that have to be met or we will die spiritually. When we are born again, in the beginning we don’t have the capacity to feed ourselves spiritually, emotionally or physically.
The body of Christ is designed to feed those who come in at every level. They gave all that they had to the Apostles, and everyone who had a need, it was met.
We must eat the right kind of food and in order to establish positive internal and external growth patterns.
We must eat the right kind of food and in order to establish positive internal and external growth patterns.
Expectations from those around us remains encouraging and upbeat.
Expectations from those around us remains encouraging and upbeat as we show the outward signs of spiritual growth
For every believer this is a season. We will begin to grow and mature, no longer needing to be bottle fed or given spiritual milk as food.
We will now be able to feed ourselves and take on some responsibility as a believer in the body of Christ.
Then we will no longer be immaturelike children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

2. Contributer to the Climate v43-45
The thing that we need to come to realize that like all infants, they grow up and mature. All believers are now becoming a responisble active and vital part in the Body of Christ. We aren’t treated like infants anymore.
But in that process we need to learn to be open, teachable, coachable and willing to take some forms of corrections and directions.
We respond and give credibility to those in authority over us.
We become doers of the word, and not just hearers anymore.
We are actively growing in our knowledge and understanding of the word. We are applying it to our lives
Some Christians never get past this level because they cannot accept the good with the bad, the compliment with the correction. They easily get their toes stepped on, take offense and leave to find another place. Some live in the vicious cycle of victim and never overcome
We have gotten the basics down,
Some get stuck. Not
The ultimate goal in our walk with God is to become a functioning part of the body of Christ, using our time and talent’s and giftings to bless others and to help others grow up in their walk with God. That is true discipleship.
Then we will no longer be immaturelike children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.
3. Creator of the Climate v46-47
We now are a part of creating the kind of enviornement that we first came to know as a baby Christian.
We come ready to give to others joyfully. Church attendance for us is a non negotialble. We share with others inside and outside the church. We are open and ready to meet any need that comes our way
We have come prayed up, read up and excited to see what the Lord is doing in the lives of others.
We are active in our Church, faithful in the little things, we take part in the ongoing workings of the Church
We are involved in regular ministry, leading others, teaching and serving.
We are walking out the God given mandate of Jesus Christ as a disciple of Jesus and in the call that God has over my life!
We share our faith and we are actively sharing our faith adding to the body of Christ exponenetially.
Today we can ask ourselves, where am I in this process?
Where should I be in the process
Am I a consumer? Am I still pretty new that I need to be fed regularly? Am I growing toward the next level?
A consumer? New to the Lord, needing all that the body of Christ has to help me grow up in my relationship with God.
Or maybe I’m a Contributor. I am in a place of openness and teachability. I am learning and becoming more like Christ in my actions and attitudes, I am open and teachable and growing up in Jesus.
Or maybe I’m a Contributer. I don’t need to
Or am I a Creator? Do I set the tone through who I am in christ? Am I an example of Jesus to others coming into the church? Do put myself in a position to give rather than recieve.
