FACT: Without receiving consistent feedback, you will not experience consistent growth

FACT: No matter how much self-awareness you have, you also have blindspots

FACT: We don’t know what we don’t know

FACT: Most of us don’t know how to give or receive good feedback

FACT: Feedback is common, but helpful feedback is rare

Verse.....
Matthew 26:33–35 NLT
Peter declared, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you.” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter—this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” “No!” Peter insisted. “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the other disciples vowed the same.
Proverbs 19:20 NLT
Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.

RECEIVING FEEDBACK WELL

1. Don’t endure it, embrace it

WHY: Feedback is necessary for growth

2. Separate personality from performance

WHY: Our performance needs to change, not our person

3. Ask specific questions

WHY: People are rarely trained in giving feedback

APPLICATION

QUOTE: Whenever we get defensive the most, that’s when we need to listen the most

MOTTO: Tell me more

ASSIGNMENT: Get feedback BEFORE the performance
