Power of Prayer

The construction company you work for has a faithful diesel pickup truck. After a week's vacation, you return to work and fill the truck with diesel fuel before heading out on the job. A block later, the truck sits dead in the road, surrounded by clouds of black smoke. It seems the company replaced the diesel engine with a regular gasoline engine while you were gone - but nobody told you. 

It looks like the same truck on the outside, but there's been a change - and the new truck engine won't run on the old truck fuel. That's exactly what happens when we become a Christian. We still look, talk, and feel like the same person, but there's been a change. The old, human ways of empowering our life and getting things done will leave us dead in the road, surrounded by clouds of frustration. What's the fuel? Prayer.
