No Bad Eggs

Martin Luther is reported to have said that the most damnable and pernicious heresy that has ever plagued the mind of man was the idea that somehow he could make himself good enough to deserve to live with an all-holy God.

You couldn't make an omelet out of five good eggs and one rotten egg and expect it to be acceptable to your guests or your family. Neither can you serve your life up to God with the many things men call good and yet also filled with deeds and thought that are rotten and expect them to be acceptable to God.
