Peter reveals that after we have been redeemed by Christ and are engaged in relationship with Him, we are given an understanding of an inheritance yet to come. This inheritance is not necessarily a worldly or physical manifestation but it is in the Kingdom to come. Things of this earth are intended to rot and pass away, but the things of the Lord are eternal.
