Turn again to the story of Joseph in Genesis 39.  The Bible describes the bedroom scene.  Joseph won the favor of Potiphar and was given great responsibility.  Potiphar left him in charge of everything.  He had the run of the house.  When Potiphar was gone, his wife would try every way she knew to induce Joseph to go to bed with her.  But do you remember his answer?  He didn’t say, “I might catch some disease!” Nor did he say, “We might have a baby!”  His refusal was rooted in his faith:  “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”  This is the secret of our success in temptation, this one or any other:  a strong faith in God that sees him as creator of all that is, that sees every human being as having dignity and worth, and that has a sense of social responsibility.
