“God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our consciences, but shouts to us in our pain: it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

I have often wondered about those words of C.S. Lewis.  Whatever else they may mean, they have come to mean this to me:  that when he speaks thus, it is to rouse us to wrestle with him, the living God.
