Then the Following Sunday we have Real Life Ministries coming to lead Worship and bring a Word for us that
This Friday and Saturday. we have VBS Have Britne come forward
Star out with jumping right backing into Theh Old Testament
Last time we were in the Book of Genesis- We were introduced to a man named Abraham, who was the father of faith and the progenitor of the Jewish perople. He has a son named Isaac, a son of Promise, how has Jacob and jacob has twelve sons. And the predominant son in the story at least is a son named Joseph, the favorite child of Jacob. His brothers betray Joseph and He is sold into slavery, but God exalts Him through divine intervention. Now Through Jospeh He would supernaturally interpret a dream for the Pharoh and through it presever the nation of Egypt and it would be there that the family would be reunited. Now when Genesis ends it does so with the death of Joseph, but before Joseph dies he prophecies the return of the family to the land of Israel

And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die, but God will visit you and bring you up out of this land to the land that he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”

We have a line up of guest speakers and guest worship teams
Ok now fast forward a couple of hundred years and we get to the Book of Exodus. The perple of God are now slaves building the pyramids of the great ancient city.... and I am Going to skip a good majority of the book of Exodus becau we aer all familiar with Moses , goes into the Egyp and commands but Pharoah refuses, the plgues are sent and on the final one the angel of death come in and kills the firstborn of every house.... except for those that have the blood of a spotless lamb on the doorpsot. That by the way is Passover.
Exodus 20 ESV
And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. “You shall not murder. “You shall not commit adultery. “You shall not steal. “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.” Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid and trembled, and they stood far off and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.” Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.” The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was. And the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the people of Israel: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have talked with you from heaven. You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold. An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you. If you make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stones, for if you wield your tool on it you profane it. And you shall not go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness be not exposed on it.’
Exodus

The Heart of the Gospel

Today the message is about fighting, about freedom.... no I’m just playing, the message today is actually about loving. Loving with radical abandon. Loving until it hurts, giving until it hurts. It about laying down your rights, its about when someone compels you to go one mile. You know it is a hard balance sometime. On the one hand we are to be warriors, more than conquerors is what the Word says. But that is when it comes towards things that are evil and wrong, and against the powers of darkness.
1 Corinthians 6:7–8 ESV
To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers!
1 Cor 6

Scriptures about loving one another

John 13:34 ESV
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
John 13:43
John 13:35 ESV
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34 ESV
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
John 15:10 ESV
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
John 13
Romans 13:8 ESV
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
1 Corinthians 13:1–8 ESV
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. 41 I do not receive glory from people. 42 But I know that you do not have the love of God within you.

1 John 2:15 ESV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 3:14 ESV
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.
1 John 4:8 ESV
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 john 3:15
1 John 4:18 ESV
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1 Corinthians 134:1—8
1 John
1 John
Men and women get stuck in their thinking they become set in their ways. And a lot of that is okay if what has been set is the words of Christ, but often times that is not the case.
What gets stuck is this is how I’ve beena nd done it for the last thirty years. Yeah, yeah how is that working out for you right now.
Romans 8:1–4 ESV
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
THERE IS NO CONDMENATION FOR SIN
ONLY FOR THOSE THAT ARE IN CHRIST.
Last Wednesday we were speaking about Prayer and you will never be able to pray great prayers, effectual, working miraculous prayer if you never come to the place that you understand your position in Jesus Christ. Because I am in Christ, that means the death he died on the Cross for my sins, I died with him. But the life that He was raised in I am now raised and seated with him in a position of power and authoirty.
But life happens, things come about. I am still on this side of heaven, I have not been completly redeemed and restored to where sin never touches me anymore, but what never can touch me anymore because my life is hidden in Christ. The word condemnation is in the legal sense, like when a judge condemns a murderer to the death penalty.
In the Old Testament God destroyed a whole civilization one time and told Noah a man that found grace in the eyes of the Lord to build and Ark of safety. For Noah and His family it became a vesell of salvation, and to the world it became a sign of condemnation. Because once that door of the Ark was shut there was no doovers, there were no second chances.
The Substance that Noah was commanded to seal up the ark was called pitch, it was a tar like substance that made the vessel water proof.
Genesis 6:14 ESV
Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.
The word that is used here for is the Hebrew word is the Word Kaphar and it is the same word that means atonement. And so God commands Noah to coat the inside and the outside with Pitch, with atonement. And this would keep the judgement waters of God from ever touching the child of god. So it is true with Jesus because of the precious blood that waas spilled, my life can now be covered inisde and out with the Blood, with the atonemnt of Christ. Listen for some of you you live with constant feeling of condemnation, you are always feeling like God is angry aor upset. Listen if you are a child of god you need to understand that the Lord is not bringing that condmenation.
Now the Lord will bring discipline, but he will not bring condmenation

32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

1 Corinthians 11:32 ESV
But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.
Now Noah was safe in the Ark just as I am safe in Christ. Noah may have fell down many times in the ark but he never fell out of the Ark!
THERE IS NO CONTROL OF SIN
there is no control by sin
THERE WERE TWO TIMES IN EARTHS HISTORY THAT MAJOR SPIRITUAL LAWS WERE INTRODUCED TO THE HUMAN CONDITION
First was with Moses and the Exodus out of Egypt. And Moses came down off of Mt Sinai with the Ten Commandments- the moral law of Holy God. Sin was definently in the World at that time,
Adam Introduced us to death, and death reigned from Adam to Moses, and From Moses to Christ. But when Moses came things got a bit more serious in that the moral laws of a Holy God were introduced, and because of the introduction of the Law every mouth will be stopped and the whole world held accountable
Why was the Law of God introduced:
For sin to be made known as sin
Romans 3
Romans 3:19 ESV
Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
The Law Defined what sin was
Galatians 3
Galatians 3:22–24 ESV
But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.
So the Law came:
It defined what sin is. Clarity to Gods character
It Doomed to condemnation- Clarity to man’s sinfulness- We are born into sin, we practice sin, and we are guilty of sin
The Whole world is condemned. So not only are we doomed to die because of Adams sin, but nw because of the Law we have this now added feature of our giuilt and with that shame. And taht is where sin finds its power to destroy your life because ther is a moral law, that is in place that brings about conseqwunces
But here is the next thing did, it shows us our need for the saviour....
Verse 24 the Law was our guardian until Christ came.... and here is when another Law was introduced into the equation
Romans 8:2 ESV
For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
And just as the law of aerodynamics and Jet Propulsion is a greater more superior law thn the law of Gravity, so too is the Gopsel of Jesus Christ and the introduction into the Life of the Spirit greater than the old Testament commandments that left us in condemnation .

You Don’t have to continue on in sin

Romans 8:3–4 ESV
For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
You need to understand something. You may be saved but your flesh is still weak. “For God hsa downe what the Law, weakened by the flesh could not do.”
That is the reason you can’t jsut be a good ol boy and make it into heaven. Your flesh is weak, it cannot and will not obey the law of God. Therefore the ten commandments cannot save you.
So what did God do? Look again at verse
… he did by sending his own Son, in the Likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh. That is God condmened sin into the physical body of the Lord jesus Christ, and because the perfect died for the imperfect, became a substiute for us..... the righteous requirement of God Law can now be fullfilled in us!
Adrian Rogers Sermon Archive C. There Need Be No More Continuance in Sin

I heard of a woman who was always proud of her wash and how white her sheets and how white her pillowcases and towels were until one day she did her wash and hung it out. And, it looked so snowy white. And then, God sent a snow. And, when she looked outside, there was her wash on the line. And, it was against the backdrop of God’s snow, and her wash looked drab and grey. And, she said, “What can a woman do in comparison to God’s snow?” Now, dear friend, your life may look good until you compare it to the life of the Lord Jesus Christ. And “God sending his … Son in the likeness of sinful flesh … condemned sin in the flesh.” (Romans 8:3)

Adrian Rogers Sermon Archive C. There Need Be No More Continuance in Sin

Now, I want you to learn this, dear friend: that salvation does not come by learning lessons from the life of Christ but by receiving life from the death of Christ. Do you understand that? It’s not the life of Christ that saves us; it is the death of Christ that saves us. The Bible says that His righteous life condemns sin in the flesh. (Romans 8:3) And, if all I have is Christ for an example, His example shows me just how rotten I am.

Romans 8:5–6 ESV
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8
THE DIFFERENCE OF THINKING DIFFERENTLY
The danger of getting stuck in your thinking is never getting unstuck.
How many of you need to get unstuck from something this morning. Maybe your marriage is stuck, maybe your stuck in some kind of addiction. Maybe you are stuck in a damaging illicit relationship, or stuck in some kind of addiction.
Listen nothing is different until I start thinking different. That sin is not going away until I start thinking different. My money is not going to grow until I start thinking different, and sometimes the different is you need to realize its not your money.

40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. 41 I do not receive glory from people. 42 But I know that you do not have the love of God within you. 43

John 5:40–42 ESV
yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. I do not receive glory from people. But I know that you do not have the love of God within you.
NOTHING IS DIFFERENT UNTIL i THINK DIFFERENT
SOMEBODY HAS SAID SOME AND i CAN TAKE IT TO HEART IF i WANT BUT i HAVE TO THINK DIFFERENTLY
People talk about Jesus, they will even give lip service to him by saying God Bless you at the drive through at McDonald
If your sin isn’t removed and your pain is not resolved, then you are just kind of a wreck waiting to happen.
Wasted years
Story about the wasted Years
Went in the tree
and stuck a stuck in the mud, but he didn’t remove his sin.
If you don’t remove the sin you will not ever get
Now don’t get the idea that I am speaking of the gospel proper, in that we are sinners, seperated from God. Christ came to die, and rose again from the grave.
What I mean by the heart of the Gospel is really the heart of Jesus, the way that Jesus loves the Father, the way that Jesus loves us, which is very much the heart of the gospel. The heart of something is what makes it bea
HOw to resolve Pain
name it
Grieve it
Leave it
Never Changes
I want you to know something. That m,any of the things that I teach and preach on are things that speak to me and things that I am still working on. The topic today is certainly one of them. I know that when I get gripped by things, it is usually when I am not walking with the Lord. Not spending time in my bible and spending time in the presence of the Lord.
And you just kind of come to terms with it.
and when you want to be different, you must think different
Why is it that We constantly run to these things....
I am choosing my thoughts, I don’t have to allow my mind to go after these things
YOU DON’T HAVE TO CALL IT MY CANCER- CALL IT MY EVERYDAY COUNTS.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO CALL IT MY BETRAYAL, CALL IT MY EYES WERE OPENED
DON’T CALL IT WHAT THE SIN DID, CALL IT WHAT THE GRACE DID.
NAME IT THE GRACE THT COVERS IT, THAT THE SIN THAT DAMGAED IT
NAME WHAT YOU LEARN, GRIEVE WHAT YOU LOSS,
