I tried to explain our Social Security system to my cleaning woman who had emigrated from El Salvador five years earlier.  She listened carefully and then said, “Here you can get up every morning and think what you want to do and you can try to do it.  You can say what you want even if nobody wants you to say it.  You can decide something you want for yourself, and you can work to get it.  For me, this is social security.” - Angie Papadakis
