Mary Had A Little Pain
Mary had a little pain,
It was so very queer;
It never bothered her except
When service time was near.
It left her free on Saturday,
To shop and buy and cook;
On other days a club or show
Her whole attention took.
When time for church attendance came,
Oh, how that pain returned;
And on our helpless Mary dear
It’s fury deeply burned.
So Mary is “at home” today,
Her fever’s very high;
But guests and eats which ease her pain –
E’en now she’s baking pie. - A.C. Williams
