Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Opening Story about attitude
Jesus has been teaching in the synagogues all over Galilee; He has also been preaching as he has walked throughout the land to find people. He also was healing all of the people of their physical and spiritual sicknesses and demonic oppressions.
He comes to a place by the sea, because remember He lives by the sea. And as he saw the crowds of people, he went on a mountain where the sea was its footstool and waited for His disciples to come to him. Then He began teaching them as he opened his mouth, about what it is like to be blessed and how to get blessed by God.
Blessed = a wish, expression, or gift for the well being of another. in cases of divine blessing, it becomes an act in FAVOR of the one being blessed
One of the Amazing benefits of following Jesus is that you get God’s FAVOR on you! You are BLESSED!
Favor- to treat someone with excessive kindness or unfair partiality; preferential treatment.
If you are God’s child, and you would know this by your confession of Jesus, then you are not only loved by God, but FAVORED as well.
Its like this: call up two leaders, tell them both how much you love them and appreciate them. But only give some candy to one and not the other. Then tell them another compliment, but only give the gift card of gas to one, and finally do it again and give them a gift card.
Being God’s child is amazing! Being loved by God is amazing and God loves everyone. I don’t care how lost you are God loves you to death and to life!
But God puts His FAVOR (Blessing) on his Children. On those whom He knows and who KNOW HIM!

Blessed are the “poor in spirit” theirs is the kingdom of God.
God’s favor is on those people who depend only on Him. They belong to the kingdom of God.
self-reliance can be deceptive. It places confidence based on personal results. And we all know that our results aren’t always the same.

Character Attitude of Grieving, Crying, andSadness
Blessed are those who mourn, they shall be comforted.
Gods favor is on those people who grieve.
We tend to forsake grief or visit it to shortly because we can’t see God or feel God when we are hurting…yet
“Christ’s Most Hell-Defying Moment in all of history was when he hung on the cross. Yet, it was also the moment when He no longer FELT god. (“Father, Father, why have you forsaken me?”) I wonder how many “Resurrection moments” We abort because we attempt tp exchange true faith for shallow feeling?” -Jeanne Mayo

Blessed are the meek (humble) for they shall inherit the earth.
Gods favor is on those who are humble
Humility is like underwear…it’s essential to wear but indecent if it shows.
Tears are good because LEAKEY HEADS don’t swell.
