1 Corinthians 10:23–33 ESV
23 “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. 24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. 25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 26 For “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” 27 If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience— 29 I do not mean your conscience, but his. For why should my liberty be determined by someone else’s conscience? 30 If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks? 31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, 33 just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

Glory

The OT word means “weighty” or “importance”

The NT word means “thought”, “opinion”, “recognition”

The Glory of God

His unsurpassed excellence in every area over every created thing.

He is worthy of praise, honor, and respect.

What does it mean to glorify God?

Psalm 86:12 ESV
12 I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.

I glorify God by praising his name and obeying his commands.

We are to live so the glory of God is displayed so others may see their need and the remedy for salvation.

1 Corinthians 10:33 ESV
33 just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

Live so others see Jesus.

John 17:4 ESV
4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.
In your daily routine.
In your free time.
In your romance.
Here is how the Bible handles dating.

3 Relationships

Family - Sexual Relations Prohibited.
Neighbor - Sexual Relations Prohibited.
Marriage - Sexual Relations Commanded.
There is no dating relationship. It does not fit.
Romantic love is a gift from God.
In marriage love pictures Christ & the church.
Ephesians 5:22–23 ESV
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.

Love that is deep, sincere, genuine, and from the Lord will be characterized by glorifying God and honoring the beloved.

Genuine love is self-sacrificing and not self-gratifying.

1. Avoid discussing romantic feelings and relationships with one another.

2. Encouragement to enter into romantic relationships is not welcome.

3. Avoid being alone in a room with someone of the opposite gender.

4. Talk about romance, love, or sex must be godly, pure, and restrained.

5. Conduct with must always be above reproach.

Virtues that glorify God in romantic relationships are chastity, humility, reserve, modesty, patience, and self-control.

Song of Solomon 2:7 ESV
7 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.

Live so others believe in Jesus.

Jesus came into the world through supernatural way. Luke 1:34-35

No. He lived a sinless life.
Hebrews 4:15 ESV
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus lived, died, and rose again to bring us into the kingdom.

1 Corinthians 15:3–4 ESV
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

Galatians 3:13 ESV
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—

2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV
21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Live so others worship Jesus.
