Luke 2:51-52

video
Luke 2:51–52 HCSB
51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.
what is interesting in this text is we get a clue as to what the pace of God is.
he could have put Jesus here with all knowledge
but he was put here as a child
he needed to learn
he needed to grow
he needed to experience the trials of life as a baby to adulthoodx
he needed to go at the pace God has for life

What is the desire of every Child?

to grow up faster
from an early age we want life to move faster

What is the desire of every Senior?

that life would slow down
that we would have enjoyed our youth
we often talk about miss used youth
Deuteronomy 10:12 HCSB
12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you except to fear the Lord your God by walking in all His ways, to love Him, and to worship the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul?
now I don’t want to press to much here but i want us to think about our pace today.
most of us are at a speed that we wonder why it is we struggle what if we slowed down and began to walk with the Lord? Instead of running with the world.
Our problem is we are going 60 all the time and we never slow down to see where we are truly going.
what if we slowed down to that 3 mph walk with God so he might help us see His way, His love, His world? It could change our perspective, our view, our focus.

Where is your focus?

Philippians 3:19 HCSB
19 Their end is destruction; their god is their stomach; their glory is in their shame. They are focused on earthly things,
our pace has us going through life at a speed that is killing us. dictated by the world around us.
it is destroying relationship, family, health, hope, love, and peace
Micah 6:8 HCSB
8 Mankind, He has told you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.
act justly, love faithfulness and walk with your God.

Now are we talking literally walking?

well sometimes... yes
it could be stopping and breathing and smelling the flowers
it could be we stop close our eyes and ask God to open them to what he is doing
it could be that we stop, sit down and watch pour children play, our grand children, and we see the beauty of the lives God created in his image.
closes there eyes
- think about the happiest day of your life.
- remember the smells.
- the sounds
- the people
- the feeling in your heart
- what made that moment awesome
-what if we slowed down and lived in the moments
-rather then rushing on to the next
-just maybe that is why God didn’t give us the speed of a cheeta, and why our natural pace is 3 mph
What if we could slow down to the pace God has for us to walk with him? What if we could simply slow down so even we were aware of our breath.
