                                             From love comes life                  12/2/07 p.m.

1 Jn 4:7-117 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 Jn 4:8 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Physical Life Comes from GOD – GOD is Love

Ge 1:1,24-28

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth

24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;  let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him;  male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and  subdue it;

Love brings the blessed and abundant life because love is of God; joy, peace, happiness

1 Jn 4:7  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God;

1 Co 13:1-13

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

W/O Love I have no real meaning

W/O Love I am nothing

W/O Love I gain nothing

4  Love suffers long and is  kind;

love  does not envy;

love does not parade itself, is not 2puffed up (arrogant);

5 does not behave rudely,

does not seek its own,

is not provoked,

3thinks no evil (keeps no accounts of evil);

6  does not rejoice in iniquity, but  rejoices in the truth;

7 bears all things,

believes all things,

hopes all things,

endures all things.

8 Love never fails.

But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Jn 4:7-117 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 Ti 4:8-9    godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.

Most importantly is that Love brings everlasting Life

1 Jn 4:9-10   9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Jn 3:16-17   16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

v11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

            Love is like the wedding ring –

Precious (metal),

Pure (metal),

And never-ending – continuous -- always returning to itself
