Introduction - Priority

This is probably the most important principle in the Christian world. Because when God is first, everything in your life will come into order. I mean EVERYTHING!
But when God is not first, everything is out of order. This is not to say you wouldn´t have any more challenges, am just saying everything falls in order as God intends it.
Exodus 13:2 NKJV
“Consecrate to Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine.”
Exodus 13:1
Exodus 13:1 NKJV
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Exodus 13:2
It is MINE says the Lord.
It is MINE says the Lord.
These are very emphatic words. The first born belong to God. Any first borns here today? I´m going to show you a few more things that belong to God. And they are very important to understand this to truly enjoy the blessings of God in your life. Amen.
Exodus 13:12 NKJV
that you shall set apart to the Lord all that open the womb, that is, every firstborn that comes from an animal which you have; the males shall be the Lord’s.

1. The firstborn must be sacrificed or redeemed.

Meaning if your animal gives birth, the first is the Lord´s and must be sacrificed, but if the animal is an unclean animal, it must be redeemed with a clean one. Like a Lamb in place of a Donkey. Here are some more animals considered unclean:
Carmel, Bat, Tortoise, Vulture, Pig, Snail, Raven, Owl
Bat
Tortoise
Vulture
Pig
Snail
Raven
Owl
What does this mean for you and I? Please answer this question. Were you born clean or unclean?
We were all born in sin, unclean. Hallelujah but Jesus was born clean to be sacrificed so you and I can be REDEEMED and made CLEAN!!! Amen.
This is one of the reasons it was impressed on me personally and compelled to teach the importance of TITHING. This is why it hurts and I kind of feel for people who either speaks negatively and or do not bring their tithe to God.

JESUS IS GOD´S TITHE.

We are to give the tithes first. He didn´t say give me one of the sheep you don´t like, or the crippled one. He said give me the first one before you have the nine more, wow!
He didn´t say give me when you have the whole 10, no. Give the first one…
Your firstfruit! I don´t think it´s even been practiced anymore by many. Today people have gathered so much debts they can hardly breathe.

God said give me the first one and the rest will be blessed. Thats what tithe is.

a. We give the tithes first before we pay the bills. This is what actually brings the blessings on our lives because we give in faith.
b. You don´t pay all your bills and then tithe, no! You give the first one to God first.
Jesus was God´s tithe. How? Because he gave Jesus while we were still sinners. He didn´t wait to see if we would repent, no he gave Jesus by faith. This was a demonstration of his faith and love towards us.
What many do not realise is, if you do not tithe, it will still leave your hand anyway. Either willingly or by force because it does not belong to you, it belongs to the Lord.

So the first portion REDEEMS the REST.

2. THE FIRST FRUITS MUST BE OFFERED

Proverbs 3:9-10
Proverbs 3:9–10 NKJV

Exodus 23:19 NKJV
The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.
Exodus 23:19

Where do we give our Tithes, first fruits?
The Tithes comes into the house of your God. It goes to the Church and not a missionary.
It does not go to a Christian ministry even though I believe in Christian ministry and I personally support and give to it, but not my Tithe. Our Tithe belongs to God.
You do not divide your Tithe and decide where it goes. You can only give away what is yours and since the Tithe is not yours, you should not give it out or keep it. You are not Robinhood, stealing from one and giving to another. You cannot give 5% her and 5% there, it is not scriptural.
The Tithe does not belong to you. It´s not yours. You´re only returning it to the Lord.
If I borrowed your car while you were away for a week and when you returned, I said to you, emm! I have prayed and I felt led to give you this car, here are the keys. You would look at me and think I am joking right? Well thats what we do with the Tithes.
An illustration. Suppose I Pastor Joseph called 3 people and say I will give them 10.000,- each every month for the 3 months I am going to be away but only require that each of the 3 of you give 1000-. to my wife and family which is called the tenth, meaning Tithe. Continue by heart.

Jericho was a first fruit.

Joshua 6:16–19 NIV
The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city! The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent. But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury.”
Joshua 6:
Jericho was first fruit city on the way to the promised land. God said bring it all into the house of the Lord. But instead a lot of people struggle. You know why? The answer is in
Matthew 6:24 NIV
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

WHAT IS MAMMON?

by Creflo Dollar | 9 Apr 2017
A lot of people think Mammon is money.
SUMMARY
SUMMARY
Jesus did not throw words around, so it is significant that he used the word “mammon” at least four times in the New Testament. When he used it, he did not simply mean money; he deliberately used the word “mammon” to show us what happens when we become attached to money. But mammon’s influence does not just stop with wealth. If we are not vigilant, this spirit will extend to every area of our lives and convince us to trust it instead of God. It tries to motivate us to do more things for it than for God, with the goal of replacing God as the source of what we need. In the book of Exodus, this spirit convinced the people that they did not need God, and its strategy has not changed This evil spirit will deliberately lead us astray and abandon us, but God will always extend his mercy and grace when we need him.

A. Mammon is not money. Mammon is an Aramaic word which comes from a Syrian God of riches. Mammon is the spirit of deceitful riches that lies to us.

It is the spirit of deceitful riches that lies to us.

So Jesus is saying you cannot serve God and a man-made mammon god. And the way we know we are serving God is we give our Tithes to God. The first of our increase to God!
He who is faithful in that which is least is also faithful in much, and he who is unjust in the least is also unjust in much .
Luke 16:10–14 NKJV
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own? “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him.
. Jesus’ parable, as well as the entire chapter, is about a steward who was unfaithful with his master’s goods because he was influenced by mammon. The original translation of mammon is “deceitful riches.” Money with the spirit of mammon on it becomes deceitful.Money is neither good nor bad; it takes on the spirit of who has it. How it is used depends on whether its owner is under the influence of God or mammon.Mammon refers to the desire to pursue wealth as a primary goal in life. The Bible says to seek God first, and everything else will be added ().The devil took Jesus up to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. He said to him, I will give you all these things if you will fall down and worship me (, ).Mammon tried to seduce Jesus; there is no reason not to think it would try the same trick with us.Whatever mammon offers us is deceitful. Everything from this spirit is designed to fool us into thinking that walking with it will end well, but mammon always leaves us in a pit. When Jesus entered Jericho, Zacchaeus climbed a tree to see him as he passed by. Jesus looked up and saw him, and said to Zacchaeus to come down quickly, because he had to stay at his house that day. Jesus then told another parable to teach about the link between money and faithfulness ().Zacchaeus first felt the favor of God when Jesus looked up and greeted him.Zacchaeus had previously been under the spirit of mammon, but a meeting with Jesus freed him to become a giver.

Mammon tried to seduce Jesus; there is no reason to think it would not try the same trick with us. Whatever mammon offers us is deceitful. Zacchaeus first felt the favor of God when Jesus looked up and greeted him. Zacchaeus had previously been under the spirit of mammon, but a meeting with Jesus freed him to become a giver. Jesus then told another parable to teach about the link between money and faithfulness
Luke 19:2–24 NKJV
Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’ “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’ “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’

B. We must be careful not to unwittingly make mammon our god.

B. We must be careful not to unwittingly make mammon our god.

Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God
Philippians 4:6 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
. We are told to be anxious for nothing. Being anxious about our unmet needs is a sign that we worship mammon. No one can serve two masters; either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and be against the other. You cannot serve God and deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in (, AMPC).We must stop being perpetually uneasy, anxious, and worried.Aim at and strive for first of all his kingdom and righteousness, his way of doing and being right, and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. Do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble (, , AMPC).When we live in the present instead of the future, the Holy Spirit will give us the grace need at the moment. We need not fear the future.

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

So more money or wealth or riches will not make you happier no. Some think if I just have more money, my marriage will be better - BUT NO! its not more money you need, you need more GOD! And the way to have more God visible in you to have LESS or you. By giving away more of yourself to God! Then God will be more in you.
By the way the spirit of anti-christ is the same as the spirit of mammon.
Revelation 13:7 NKJV
It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
So we have to understand that the FIRST FRUITS must be offered to God.
Ex
Exodus 23:19 NKJV
The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

CAIN and ABEL´s OFFERINGS!
Why did God accept Abel´s offering and rejected Cain´s?
,                                     .
When you understand the principle of First born and first fruit, it´s simple.
Genesis 4:3–5 NKJV
And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
Genesis 4:3-
You will discover that Cain brought an OFFERING and not FIRST FRUIT!
You will see in verse 4 that Abel brought FIRSTBORN, which is the FIRST FRUIT.
Some say Tithing was under the law, yes it was, but it was way before the law. This situation with Cain and Abel was 2500 years BEFORE the law.
The point is God cannot be in the second place. He might be second in your life but GOD is always number 1.
But instead a lot of people struggle

3. The Tithe must be first.

Jericho was first fruit city on the way to the promised land. God
Leviticus 27:
Leviticus 27:30 NKJV
And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord.
So I am asking you today in your heart, is God first? Jesus said in
Matthew
Matthew 6:21 NKJV
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Because if your treasure is in this house, this Church, then your heart will be here also.
Exodus 13:14
Exodus 13:14 NKJV
So it shall be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ that you shall say to him, ‘By strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Tithing says more about our heart than our pockets. It shows the position we place God in our lives. Let this year be the year you put God first! Let God trust you with more. So you can be a blessing to your world.

LET US PRAY!
