Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus:
The word apostle means “one who is sent out.”
Paul is affirming that he was sent out by the will of God

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

He has so placed us in blessing, that we are surrounded
We are not talking about material blessing.
This passage does not deal with earthly temporal blessings, but with heavenly eternal blessings believers now have in Christ.
We are talking about every spiritual blessing!
The only way you are entitled to these spiritual blessings you must be in Christ.
No access without clearance!
You must be in Christ! A new creation! Born Again!
What are some of the Spiritual blessings!

Chose: to choose especially for oneself or in one’s own behalf.

Before the world was created! I was his choice.
He chose me for himself and for a purpose! I have Purpose…
Holy: Holy has in it the idea of difference and of separation.

Paul thinks of the purpose of God’s choice. God chose us that we should be holy and blameless. Here are two great words. Holy is the Greek word hagios, which always has in it the idea of difference and of separation.

God chose me to be fit to be used by him.
You see blemishes but He sees blameless!!!

Under Roman government - The person who had been adopted had all the rights of a legitimate son in his new family and lost absolutely all rights in his old family. In the eyes of the law, he was a new person. So new was he that even all debts and obligations connected with his previous family were abolished as if they had never existed.

The second blessing in this passage is that God the Father in love adopted us as sons. God has determined beforehand (predestined) that all who believe in Jesus Christ will be adopted into his family.
According to his Will! Strengthening my foundation: I was apart of his Plan! I am not a mistake…
to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
My praise is for real!
