Men’s Ministry
The commission of God’s man.
One might wonder how men's ministry is any different from a woman's ministry or for that matter, any kind of ministry. After all, it would seem that ministry, if done in service for the Lord, is all the same regardless of the gender, age, or race of the individual serving.
Men's Ministry is the active pursuit of men in order to connect them to God, His Word, and other men for the purpose of winning, growing, and training God's man in Christ.
We know one thing for sure -- God will use the heart and life of anyone who chooses to make himself available to Him. The Bible says,
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."
This is the great commission spoken by Jesus Himself. In other words, Jesus Christ is commissioning His followers to go into the entire world and reproduce believers. This is a big calling.
This raises some questions:
How should I live my own life?
What is my calling in life?
Is there a calling in the world of work?
Is there a different calling in the Church?
How do I fulfill my calling?
How can I grow deeper in intellect, emotion, and spirit?
How can I develop the purity the Lord desires in my life?
What can I do to share the gospel of the kingdom?

God's man draws close to God.
God’s man feeds himself. He nurtures his personal relationship with the Lord. He is consistently studying and applying God's Word independent of the church or groups he is part of.
Learn how to study the Bible. Build your own library and develop a personal frame work to support your own Bible study and prayer.
Seek and develop Bible interpretation skills.

God's man is seeking to learn.
Learning comes through self-study and regular biblical instruction.
13 And because of this we also give thanks to God constantly, that when you received God’s word that you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which also is at work in you who believe.
This can be achieved through personal Bible study, small-group Bible study, or large-group study with small-group discussion.
How to Read the Scripture
Observation - look at the context which can be social (cultural), historical, literary.
Interpretation - read for meaning
Application - what is the object lesson or action
Correlation - putting meanings together or connecting with other passages

God's man learns and applies God's Word.
It is the application of God’s Word to all areas of life that causes us to flourish. It is essential to allowing room for accountability within the men's ministry for the purpose of consistency and obedience to God's Word
22 But be doers of the message and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves,
23 because if anyone is a hearer of the message and not a doer, this one is like someone staring at his own face in a mirror,
24 for he looks at himself and goes away and immediately forgets what sort of person he was.
25 But the one who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues to do it, not being a forgetful hearer but a doer who acts, this one will be blessed in what he does.
30 “And you, son of man, your people, the ones talking together concerning you beside the walls and in the doorways of the houses, each one with his brother saying, ‘Please come and hear what is the word that is going out from Yahweh.’
31 And they come to you as people do, and they sit before you, and my people hear your words, and they do not do them, for they are showing passion in their mouth, but their heart is going after ill-gotten gain.
32 Now, look! You are to them like a sensual song, beautiful of voice and played well on an instrument, and they hear your words, but they are not doing them.

God's man connects with other men.
God's man doesn’t just connect when an opportunity comes along. God’s man makes opportunities to connect with other men. God’s man makes it a priority to connect with purpose: to build community, to establish accountability, for personal confession, and for prayer.
1 Brothers, even if a person is caught in some trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of humility, looking out for yourself, lest you also be tempted.
2 Carry the burdens of one another, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks he is something although he is nothing, he is deceiving himself.
16 Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much.
23 Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who promised is faithful. 24 And let us think about how to stir one another up to love and good works,

Protecting
God's man learns resist temptation.
God's man learns to address major life temptations and/or crises according to his need and life-stage. Support and encouragement from the ministry leader and small group is essential.
9 Two are better than the one, for they enjoy a better reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will help up his companion. But pity the one who falls and there is no one to help him up. 11 Also if two lie together, they can keep each other warm. But how can one person be warm? 12 Although an assailant may overpower one person, two may withstand him. A threefold cord is not easily broken!

God's man is involved in the work of ministry.
God's man is involved in some form of men's ministry based on his gifts and talents. God has called each of us to pour out to others what He has poured into us.
10 Just as each one has received a gift, use it for serving one another, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
11 If anyone speaks, let it be as the oracles of God; if anyone serves, let it be as by the strength that God provides, so that in all things God will be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
11 And he himself gave some as apostles and some as prophets and some as evangelists and some as pastors and teachers
12 for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
13 until we all reach the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to a measure of the maturity of the fullness of Christ,

Sharing
God's man actively shares his faith.
God's man learns to actively share his faith in order to lead others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest part of the earth.”
15 but set Christ apart as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense to anyone who asks you for an accounting concerning the hope that is in you.
18 And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age.”

Impacting
God's man is invested in transformation.
God’s man invests time and resources into the lives of other men. We suggest one-on-one connection through shared activities, spiritual mentoring, and modeling.
22 But flee from youthful desires, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, in company with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.
