Joshua 1:3 NIV
3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.
Col 4:2-
Colossians 4:2–6 NIV
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Every Place – Devotion.
Here we have a part of the letter that Paul and Timothy wrote to the church at Colossae.
In chapter 4 they encourage the church to devote themselves to prayer, making sure they are both watchful and thankful.

1. How should we Pray?

They are encouraged to pray in a way that will see the gospel message be received and that the message that is spoken by the church is proclaimed clearly and loudly.
How should we pray?
Yep we know “our Father … “
Teach us to pray...
Luke 11:1–4 NIV
1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say: “ ‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’ ”
Jesus goes on teaching about Prayer.
Luke 11:1–2 NIV
1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say: “ ‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
Luke 11:1

Luke 11:5
Luke 11:5–13 NIV
5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. 9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Persistant Prayer
Remember He is a Good Father.
Philippians 4:4–7 NIV
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:
Prayer petitions thanks giving requests
Rejoice - Trust - Lean in.

2. How should we act?

Matthew 5:16 NIV
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
They go on to encourage the church to be wise in the way that we act towards those who are not a part of the Kingdom of God, making sure that every opportunity is seized and taken advantage of for the Kingdom of God.
Colossians 4:5 NIV
5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.
They go on to encourage the church to be wise in the way that we act towards those who are not a part of the Kingdom of God, making sure that every opportunity is seized and taken advantage of for the Kingdom of God.
Matthew 5:14–16 NIV
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 NIV
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
“this little light of mine...”
“this little light of mine...”
The light can’t be hidden.
1 cor
1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

3. How should we speak?

Colossians 4:6 NIV
6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Being aware of the conversations that are spoke and ensuring that they are full of grace and seasoned with salt.
The grace that we have received is passed on and extended to those who are in contact with our lives, so they too will know and experience the freedom of the Kingdom.
Our mission statement states

“Living Waters Church is empowered to bring God’s message, leading people into a loving relationship with God, teaching people to be followers of Jesus Christ.”

We can see how this links into Paul and Timothy’s statement about salt.
Bringing God’s message, leading people, teaching them all involve allowing our light to direct and the salt of our lives to season all we do and display.
Ecclesiastes 5:2 NIV
2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
From our relationship with God, we have an answer for everyone.
The gospel message of “repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near” is an all-inclusive message that when responded to bring hope and the freedom of new life.
So let our Prayers be persistent, filled with honour and thankfulness.
Let our actions be the light that points people to God.
Let our speech be full of grace and Kingdom culture.
