The doctor said, “If you want to live, you must start eating.”  These words were relayed to me by a man sick in the hospital with no appetite.  “We are told that a bird can go nine days without food; a dog, 20 days; a turtle, 500 days; a snake 800 days; a fish, 1,000 days; and some insects, 12,000 days.  For man, however, two weeks is about the limit.  Sooner or later nourishment is necessary for all God’s creatures.” (Preston Road Candlestick)  When we have no food or no appetite, there is immediate concern and rightly so.
