Introduction

Talking with my friend before the big game
He did not think we could win
I gave him a rousing speech.
We lost 56-7
I have noticed today that many in the body of Christ feel this way.
We have lost the culture
What it means to be a committed church member has lost all meaning
God is mocked, evil is celebrated
The people of God feel like they cannot win.
Church, let me begin by reminding you of something; we are not on the losing side!
Sin has been defeated
Death has been defeated
Satan has been defeated
Just read the end of the book, God wins, we win!
While God wins, and His people ultimately win, many are not living in victory.
Believers are losing their testimony
Churches are losing their influence
The Christian worldview is losing ground to worldliness
Why? We have strayed from the source of our victory.
The good news? Its not too late. Its not too late for the people of God to hit their knees in repentance. Its not too late for us to cry out to God in holy desperation!
Its not too late for revival

The Revival Decision

“We cannot organize revival, but we can set our sails to catch the wind from heaven when God chooses to blow upon His people once again.”
Revival Causes Us To Believe God For The Impossible
Hezekiah was attempting to reunify Israel, something many believed was impossible.
"Why did you come to Hopewell”. I believe God intends to do something here so big only He can get the credit for it.

Revival Requires Us To Stop Playing Church
We cannot afford to major on the minors
An older preacher told me at his first church they argued how to get rid of rats in the parsonage.
Revival Brings A Fresh Appreciation of Grace
Even in the law there was a provision for those that had missed out.
Numbers 9:9–12 CSB
Then the Lord spoke to Moses: “Tell the Israelites: When any one of you or your descendants is unclean because of a corpse or is on a distant journey, he may still observe the Passover to the Lord. Such people are to observe it in the second month, on the fourteenth day at twilight. They are to eat the animal with unleavened bread and bitter herbs; they may not leave any of it until morning or break any of its bones. They must observe the Passover according to all its statutes.

The Revival Invitation

We must be called back to truth
The northern tribes had split away after the death of Solomon. They had created their own form of worship independent of the Word of God.
We must be called to repent of sin
Come Back
Do not be like your Fathers
Do not be hard hearted
We must be prepared for people to doubt.
Many laughed at the idea of people coming back to God
Some were changed
The people of God were revived .
