Scripture
1. Our relationship with Jesus is causational as it relates to our relationship with the Father
Our relationship with God the father is intimately connected to Jesus Christ as the Son
Sonship is primarily image and nature in the text but does also imply at times genetics which makes for intimate likeness.
People speak about having relationship with God, having a spiritual connection to a higher power. While these statements may be sincere from the heart, Jesus makes it clear that they are not true unless the relationship between the higher power are intimately interwoven through a relationship with him.
Jesus who is God’s word expresses the very idea of God. The words of a person’s represent what is intimately in their mind and thought and exposes from the very breath in their body what is on their mind and end their heart.
Multiple scriptures support what Jesus has claimed about the cause and effect relationship that exist between the Father and Jesus and what should be a causal relationship between the Children of God, Jesus as our Lord and God as our Father
2. Our relationship with Jesus produces a lifestyle of living in the Light
a. Jesus is light and brings light into the world
b. Living in the Light is equal to living a life of obedience to the Father according to his word.
i. As representatives of Jesus we are also called to be lights
3. How we live according to the truth reported by Jesus will be the proof text what of what God judges us by and the true measure of whether we actually possess saving faith in Jesus as the Christ. ; ;
Just as Jesus first advent spoke to him saving through his life, the disobedient ways of the fallen specifically of them not accepting Jesus and obeying his word will be the very thing that condemns them
