Introduction

Story: craziest questions asked on a plane
How do you open the window
Can we turn around I forgot something
Can you fly lower, my wife is afraid of heights
Can you slow down so we get a better look at the grand canyon
The engine noise i giving me a headache, can you please turn it off
Transition : We ask questions all the time. From asking what time it is to asking someone to marry you, questions range in matters of importance. There can be no greater question than to seek truth about God. This morning we will learn that the most important question for God is not “why”, but “who”.
Thesis: We may not understand every minute detail of suffering, but we can know that in the big picture our God brings restoration.

Conclusion

Job never gets the answer to the question why.
If he had, could he have handled it?
It served 2 purposes
To glorify God
To instruct people in the future about suffering and sorrow
“The worldling blesses God while he gives him plenty, but the Christian blesses him when he smites him: he believes him to be too wise to err and too good to be unkind; he trusts him where he cannot trace him, looks up to him in the darkest hour, and believes that all is well.”
“God is too wise to be mistaken. God is too good to be unkind.  And, when you can’t trace His hand, you can always trust His heart.’”
