Things to Come. v6-7

Have you ever thought about heaven?

Predictable? Boring? Endless years of the same old, same old? No one would look forward to that! Well, I’ve got some good news for you…Heaven is not like that at all. No way! Have you ever read any of the books about Peter Pan and wished you could live in a beautiful, magical place like Neverland—but without Captain Hook and all the mean pirates? Well, Heaven is a better place than Neverland any day. How do I know? From what the Bible says about it. That why this book provides another view of Heaven: as a place worth thinking and talking and dreaming about. In fact, once you understand what the Bible really says about Heaven, you can’t help but look forward to living there!1

Already, but Not Yet. v6

Amazed Eternally. v7

Already but Not Yet. v6

We are raised spiritually - one day physically.
We are seated spiritually - one day physically.

The Resurrection

Acts 24:15 ESV
15 having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust.

The just will be judged

2 Corinthians 5:10 ESV
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

The unjust will be judged

Revelation 20:11–15 ESV
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Amazed Eternally. v7
