“I Need More Time” Part 3

9 What does the worker gain from his toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. 13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God.

Vs 13 - Last time concentrate on “The Gift”

Satisfaction in toil or miserable part of work/life
This is a “Gift of God” (Bren giving to kids)
To enjoy the good… - how hard is that?
But to enjoy the bad… - You have to Know
Ps. 100:3a (937) – Know that the LORD is God.
Know – Heb. (yada) – Seinfeld

Ex. 33:17 – God knows Moses (face to face) intimately
Gen. 4:1 – Adam knew his wife… and she conceived bore Cain (intimately)
Our culture can be yada yada yada…

Rom. 6:23 – for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (comes back to surrender again)

Ps. 100:3b- It is he, who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

How did God make us?

Gen. 2:7 - the LORD(yhwh) God formed the man from the dust of the ground(adamah) and breathed into his nostrils the breath(rûaḥ) of life, and the man(adam) became a living being.

Look at these Hebrew words

Adam = man
Adamah (root adam) = ground
YHWH = LORD – Holy (pronounced it adonai)
English YHWH – Hebrew y h w h
Ruah = Breath – same word – spirit & wind

Breath – do you think about it
26000/day (14-20/min.)
99% our energy comes from breath
10% - most of us
2-6x’s/min (slow down & think about it, i.e. running)

Be still (quiet yourself)
And know (intimately)

1Kings 19:11-12 (559) - The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper (Heb. - Silence)

God is in the silence, not the noise.

Well done good and faithful servant

The trophy that really matters is not on the shelf or the resume’. No it is the soul we become. This is the crown we will one day cast before God.
