Hell is a reality
Jesus spoke 3 times on hell for every one time on heaven
Not a message to scare you but to remind you what you have been saved from
God doesn’t send to hell - We go of our own volition
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
What Hell Is..
Eternal - we all live forever
Place of pain, fear, and sadness - Jesus described it
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in that place, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves thrown out.
What Hell Is..
Isolation - not hanging out with buddies
Separation - from God
Good things in Hell
Good people - vs 19-22 - rich man was a “good man”
Good vision - vs 23 - he could see where he was
Good prayers - vs 24 - prayer for mercy too late
Good things in Hell
Good memory - vs 25 - remember your life
Good theology - all will know that Jesus was the way - Phil 2
and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Good things in Hell
Good priorities - vs 27-28 - send to my brothers.. - warn - testify - witness
Good Intentions - outright rebellion/ rejection
Also - apathy, procrastination
As for man, his days are like grass— he blooms like a flower of the field; when the wind passes over it, it vanishes, and its place is no longer known.
