What are some types of Christian Bibles?
There are different types of Bible translations depending on the method used to translate:
Bible Types
++Word-for-word:
Closely matches modern words and phrases to words and phrases in the original text. Technically accurate but can be awkward to read and understand. Examples: NASB, ESV.
Bible Types
++Word-for-word
++Thought-for-thought
Translates the original meanings and ideas into modern language. Not a strict literal translation. Allows text to read more clearly and evenly while remaining true to the original meaning. Examples: NIV, NLT.
Bible Types
++Word-for-word
++Thought-for-thought
++Paraphrase
Uses modern language in a lyrical and poetic way to convey Biblical meaning. Less care is given to maintaining the literal style of the original text. Uses robust modern language to make the Bible's meaning as accessible as possible to the modern reader. Examples: The Message Bible, The Living Bible.

Read Isaiah 59:1-2
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; Neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, And your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
