Introduction:
So, "What Does "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and You Will be Saved" mean?"
This is our question that will serve as a theme for the month of July as we continue to build toward a successful Eternity Workshop and Open House in October.
This theme can be found in the House to House issues we have begun to distribute in 2 postal zones for now.
These are natural questions people come to as they pursue the faith that we know saves us now.
Tonight we’ll look at a passage in Acts that connects belief to the Word of God and then see that belief followed by salvation.
Acts
What Must I do to be Saved?
When people arrive to this point in considering their salvation they are in a very good place.
At least they consider the idea that they must be saved.
This is different then convincing people they need to be rich
people desire to be rich despite their sins and unrighteous living
different then convince people they need to be healthy
people desire to be healthy despite their sins and unrighteous living
different then convincing them they need to wise
people desire to be wise despite their sins and unrighteous living
healthy, wealthy and wise are carnal pursuits
salvation is a spiritual pursuit where the Spirit convinces people of their sins
Asking “what must I do to be saved?” is the work of the Holy Spirit.
So we must use the Holy Spirit and be in the Spirit when we evangelize.
Even the women possessed of a spirit proclaimed that the message of the Apostles is one that leads to salvation.
[When people ask what needs to be done to be saved.
Now is not the time to be vague or unclear.
The first step in the plan of salvation is to Hear and Believe.
When the words “hear and believe” is used, it can mean many things.]
Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be Saved
There are two possibilities we will discuss.
Believe in your mind only

Baptized at Once
Now that a person is convinced of sin and is willing to ask what must I do to be saved then there remains only one thing left to do, to enter into their salvation.
That one thing is to be baptized...
The book of Acts does an amazing job at giving us 11 examples of what people did when they understood what it meant to believe on the Lord and you shall be saved.
they spoke the word of the Lord and people heard that message and believed it and they obeyed what was required of them and that was to be baptized.
The Philippian Jailer was convinced of sin and asked what must I do...
