Who would have thought that Andy loved pearls so much!!
That sketch was based on a very short couple of stories that Jesus told.
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.
The point in both these very short stories is that the treasure in the field,
or the valuable pearl
were worth far more to the man and the merchant than any sacrifice they would make to get them!
The pearl merchant sold everything he had to buy this amazing pearl becasue he knew he could sell it for a far greater reward!
But of course these stories are not all about pearls.

The stories are about gaining access to the kingdom of God!

to know God!

In other words to know God!
In simple terms then,
gaining access to the kingdom of God is worth far more than anything in this life!
Now I realise many of you may not believe in God,
or that the only way to God, into God’s Kingdom, is through Jesus,
But that’s the message of the bible we believe here at GC.
But just because we don’t believe somehting could be true doesn’t mean it’s not!
Did you ever think Donald Trump would be US president!?
Did you think Britain might leave the EU?
Did you think Boris Johnson might one day be PM!
And while those things might have an important impact on this life.
Getting the truth about God wrong or right, is far more importnat!
That could have an eternal, and massively significant impact on you and your family!
This is not something to get wrong!
This is worth making an effort to find out the truth about!
Like the pearl merchant - Like andy!
That’s waht today is all about.
We love our community enough to tell you what we believe to be the most important news in all the world!
We don’t want you just to have a Sunday Funday!
We love our community enough to tell you that there is something far more important and incredible than even a BBQ and candyfloss!
And that is to gain access to the kingdom of God through Jesus.
believe there is a God who offers us a relationship with himself through Jesus his son.
A life in the kingdom of God - and we believe it’s worth everything we have.

For Jesus gave us everything he had for us,
so that we might be spared the consequnces of ignoring God,
and be friends with him instead!

Am I ‘brave enough’ to NOT even find out about Christianity!?

It’s a brave call to not even find out about Christainity,
because what if there is a God,
the bible tells us it is only through faith in Jesus

that we can be saved from judgement for rejecting God.

SO, if you love yourself,
Then to not know God
if you love your family,
The best thing you can do is atleast make some effort to find out some more!
