With Brexit we are faced with a world that wants disunity
We are faced with people wanting just their agenda and needs looked after
They don’t consider others.
In the christian way of life we are faced with two worlds.
With Brexit the world wa
The world as others worship idols, idols being bands, celebrities, politicians, footballers, past world leaders or influential people.
Then there are christians, we believe in a:
God That Died but Rose again
Is Felt but not seen
Being called to love all people, saints, sinners, Kind people horrible people.
That be christians non christians, saints, sinners, Kind people horrible people. We are called to love all of them respect all of them and care for each one of us.
We are called to love all of them respect all of them and care for each one of us.
To unify everyone no matter what.
Essentially we are different from the world, and its choices.
We are separated from them because of our beliefs and choices.
Yet has it always been like that? And if it has what do we do?
King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up. So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials assembled for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before it.
Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “Nations and peoples of every language, this is what you are commanded to do: As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.”
Daniel 3:
We are told that having two camps leave and remain is now just the norm.
We are told to look after number one.
As a country we have chosen, number one.
Brexit leave vote was apparently fuelled by immigration.
It was brought on because of a refugee crises from Syria.
People without a home was trying to flee their war ton country and come to safety.
Yet the leave party took a picture of that and said they are taking up all the room.

We as christians are called to love these people not get rid of them.
We are also faced with other things that the people of the world do.

We are told as a society almost dictated to by peer pressure, magazines and TV that we should worship these things and go to these places and spend all this time and money there.
We are told to almost worship the ground these people walk on.
To follow them, kneel down to them and make sure we stay in place.
We are also not allowed anymore to think differently to anyone else. Dare we speak out about Gays, or Gender, or tell people there is a God in heaven, that loves them and if they dont believe in him well their destination does not look great.
Free speach is only free if you follow the world.
Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king, and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”
Yet this is no different to what happened in Daniels day.
Daniel is not here but his leadership and influence has lead these three men to worship and obey God.
Could you obey and worship God when no one else is looking?
When we are not here together and your faced with a difficult question from someone or asked to do something that you know does not honour God.
Could you obey when the world dictates not to?
Can you obey knowing full well there is a fiery furnace on the other end?
The firey furnace in some cases being, a loss of Friends, Taken outside of of our people groups. A loss of a Job?
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
These three knew full well about the consequences yet they obeyed anyway.

They asked him to recant his statement and he said how can I when the bible says that?
He used his place of influence for Christ.
He went with the even if he doesn’t.

Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”
So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire,
The irony of this is that the King had to bow down to see the three of them in the furnace and call out to them to be heard.
He was bowing down to God without even realising it.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in furious rage commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. So they brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar answered and said to them, “Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image that I have set up? Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?”
Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.
People have a funny way of seeing something and then telling everyone else this is what we are going to do now.
Worldly Leaders change their mind every day and yet the people just follow on.
No questions asked.
In life we are cursed by people or spoken down to when there is no success
Yet when success comes.
The people that curse you can end up being the people that bless you.
Maybe you have been put aside or told your not good enough.
Then God shows up in your life and they all want to know you then when your successful. Yet when you were just you and God. No one wanted to know.
Now they will sing your praises.
I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at home in my palace, contented and prosperous. I had a dream that made me afraid. As I was lying in bed, the images and visions that passed through my mind terrified me. So I commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret the dream for me. When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me. Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar, after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)
I said, “Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no mystery is too difficult for you. Here is my dream; interpret it for me.
Daniel 4:4-
Nebuchadnezzar has a dream
When the world is puzzled and can not get an anwser to a question they will come to a spirit filled person of God because they believe that they will have the anwser that they are looking for.
Notice the word Holy Gods.
“This is the dream that I, King Nebuchadnezzar, had. Now, Belteshazzar, tell me what it means, for none of the wise men in my kingdom can interpret it for me. But you can, because the spirit of the holy gods is in you.”
Holy Gods again.
This is what King Nebuchadnezzar did when he had his second dream about the tree being chopped down. This was the second time God was speaking to the King for him to turn to him and repent of his sins.

Then Daniel (also called Belteshazzar) was greatly perplexed for a time, and his thoughts terrified him. So the king said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its meaning alarm you.”
Belteshazzar answered, “My lord, if only the dream applied to your enemies and its meaning to your adversaries! The tree you saw, which grew large and strong, with its top touching the sky, visible to the whole earth, with beautiful leaves and abundant fruit, providing food for all, giving shelter to the wild animals, and having nesting places in its branches for the birds—Your Majesty, you are that tree! You have become great and strong; your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky, and your dominion extends to distant parts of the earth.
“Your Majesty saw a holy one, a messenger, coming down from heaven and saying, ‘Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump, bound with iron and bronze, in the grass of the field, while its roots remain in the ground. Let him be drenched with the dew of heaven; let him live with the wild animals, until seven times pass by for him.’
“This is the interpretation, Your Majesty, and this is the decree the Most High has issued against my lord the king:
You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes. The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules. Therefore, Your Majesty, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue.”

The Gospel message is hard to tell in our time now.

We have just had the famous Pride Parade, which controdicts the bible in so many ways, and we would be attacked by them if we said its not in Gods plan and what you are doing is against Gods infinate plan.
We would be cut down. Yet we must deliver the Gospel message to people like this in this day and age.

This is the thing about a Destination.

A destination can be changed.
If I was traveling to Lakeside Shopping Centre and then Decided to travel on to Bluewater what have I done?
Changed my destination!!
If I think of going to Ibiza but then change my mind for a holiday in Greece what have I done?
Changed my destination!!
So a Destination can be changed.
Daniel told the king of his destination and told him he can change it.
God gives us all a chance to change our destination.
Yet are we not looking for love?
Yet are we not looking for love?
Essentially are we not looking for love and recognition, fulfilment?
Daniel when delivering his message to the King was very careful.
The Gospel message here for the King was hard to stomach, he did not listen and carried on because he thought he knew best.
Notice the word Most High how many times daiel mentions this word.
It’s mentioned about 10 times
Do you ever get people say. Yeh yeh but arnt all the Gods the same. Or is there not just a higher power. Or the Universe does all this?
You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.
this is the interpretation, O king: It is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king,
King Nebuchadnezzar was saying the same thing to Daniel
Daniel 4:
In Response to King Nebuchadnezzar interpretation of the Gods. Daniel reminds him at least three times that its Daniel that serves the Most High God, there is no God like Daniels and the King needs to give his life to this God and forget the others and he will have his Kingdom back.

We must be like the famous three Shadrach Meshac and Adbedigo
When the world is worshiping Pride we must be like even if he doesnt I will only worship God.
When the world is going to festivals and worshiping celebs we must show them the Gospel
When the world is firing us from Jobs just for quoting the bible.
In our everyday when that person says, yeh but isnt there just the Universe and a Higher Power?
We must remind them that we serve a God who is soverign and Loves them and Us.
We must pray people into the Kingdom
Essentially the world is looking for Love. They are looking for God.

The world is Looking For Love we must show them Love
Right now they will worship anything yet we must show them Christ.
We must speak to our world people in our world and tell them Gospel truth, there is only one way to the Father and that's through Jesus.
Some wont like it they may not listen, but its the truth and God Loves them.
We must tell people the Gospel message no matter what.
Daniel told the king and eventually he came round and worshiped him.
Yet it takes a lot for us to do this.
A destination can be changed!!
We need to pray the people in to Gods Kingdom
Pray for people in our foodbank that they come into Gods Kingdom that they can change their destination.
We need to pray the people in that are in our foodbank into the kingdom. So that the work can progress.
